After 10 years and 4 months waist length traditional locs I let my mom trim my locs to bra strap length on my birthday last week on September 7th. They were just too long too heavy and took forever to dry all that hair at once and now my traditional locs feel so much lighter like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

My sisterlocks were a little over shoulder length and I recently cut it down to a very short blunt bob. My hair looks so thick now, I absolutely love it !!

Well they really did big chops. It’s been 4 1/2 months since I started my loc journey and it’s getting there lol. I only want mines to get above bra length. I want to wear a nice ponytail and a cutie updo. Thanks for the info. Have a great weekend everyone

I had waist length last year and cut to below bar strap. But now its already almost back to waist length. I think next time im going to do a loc bob cause ive never experienced short locs. My hair was already kinda long when i started my locs 10 years ago

I cut my microlocs down to just between my eyes, once I got to bra strap length. They were HEAVY and I only ever used water on them; very rarely coconut oil like once a month. That's how I know it was the weight of my hair and not product. This second set, I'm aiming for jaw length before I trim. I love seeing long locs on others though 😅

I would cut of a good amount… I don’t think I’d let my locs get that long in the first place 😅 it’s just too much hair, too heavy, takes too long to dry, gets stuck when you sit down…. I have to say though I prefer when they cut it into a U-shape rather than blunt across when the hair is super long. It’s not layers, but I think that method works better if you have small locs that you braid or do hairstyles with… the hair just lays better

It’s an eye freckle. I’ve had it for as long as I can remember and I have more than one, you just can’t see them on camera. I get regular eye check ups as well, but I appreciate your concern. 😊
