Make it make sense...ok. - First, a lot of our games games have had stretches with 1st down/2nd down runs between the tackles for little or no gain, but softens up eventually and we start breaking bigger & bigger runs. Unfortunately it didn't quite happen this time bc we were playing a very good run that new we wanted to run with a lead, fine... - 2. Not all runs are meant to gain a ton of a yards. Sure, that would be great. But as long as you aren't creating negative runs, there are several reasons to keep doing it: - it keeps the DLine guessing, thus slowing down the pass rush instead of throwing constantly and allowing them to pin their ears back and tee off. It also softens them up, makes them tired, so the past rush is less effective. - it helps to set up different plays of the run looks. Playaction, quick bubble screen, when they are expecting runs bc we've given them those looks so many times and think they are just going plug the gaps as soon as the ball is snapped. - maybe most importantly, especially in a game like that, vs a team like that, that wins by controlling the clock, being methodical, and making the other team make mistakes, it flips the script. Running it consistently allows us to keep the clock moving, when you aren't throwing, you aren't risking incompletions, and equally as important, you aren't risking turnovers. Finally, it gives Allen a physical & mental breather, something he did not get often in the past. Hopefully you understand now, bc I see a lot of this "why do we keep 'running up the middle'" talk amongst Bils fans. Joe Brady deserves a ton of credit for sticking with the run game, even if it wasn't as successful as we hoped, or as it usually is.

Awesome win. I still think there is major problem. Why on earth did the referees not review the Watson catch (or was it?) inside of 2 minutes. It's these glaring mistakes that will eventually lead to folks being so disenchanted with the league. The Chiefs called a timeout, after the play, so the refs had extra time to assess. I recall the refs stopping the momentum of Bills drive in the 4th quarter (last week?) to determine if Hollins (??) actually reached the line to gain for a first down on 2nd down as he went out of bounds. Slowing momentum can be damaging for any offense! But this no-catch is OK to not review?? It was NOT a clean catch - the fact that he bobbled it should have been enough to initiate a replay review! In this game the Bills were saved by a holding penalty on the following play - on a play that shouldn't have happened (4th and 4). I won't watch football, if the referees decide every single game through a call or no-call. The referees and the NFL (replay Ref) to be accountable and their work should be reviewed. Bottom line. I want penalties reviewed in 2025, as well as an officiating staff that doesn't have their heads up their arses.
