All those knocks against him and the belief that he couldn't do like reading defenses, leadership, accuracy, and out of this world mobility he has in spades now. Buffalo stuck with him and built around him and that's why he was second in MVP voting this year. A lot of franchises can learn a lot from the way they handle this kid.

Put this into perspective. The balls he was missing on were passes 60 yards down the field. He's throwing to WRs that probably run a 4.7+ 40 yard dash. Look at these WRs in this video. They are misjudging the ball in the air, they aren't catching the pass, they aren't blazing runners, etc. He's going to be quite the amazing QB in the NFL. All signs point to his success. He scored a 37 on the wonderlic test. That's higher than Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, etc. People think Josh Rosen is the smart QB from this QB class. Allen put up a wonderlic score in elite territory. This guy is smart and has loads of talent.

I like him the most out of the draft class. Not because he's a sure thing, far from that but I think he has crazy upside and if he reaches half of his potential he'll be a solid starter in the NFL. And if he reaches his full potential he might be an absolute superstar and the ideal modern NFL QB. BUT if I'm the Browns I might pick another guy, just because the pressure there to have a sure thing is so high right now. But I think for the Giants he would be ideal.

I'm a Ravens fan and the biggest problem with Joe is he is a one-dimensional QB. Joe is a play action QB and needs a running game. Joe cannot just drop back, read the D and rip it apart. When Joe has been successful the Ravens were running the ball which allows the play action pass to work. Ever since Ray Rice got railroaded, the Ravens have struggled to find a steady, year after year RB and all during that time Joe has been sucking.

He did not have that luxury last year, sat for all of half a game before the infamous Nathan Peterman was pulled, was throw to the wolves behind a terrible OL, receivers who weren’t getting open, lazy no effort Kelvin Benjamin as the veteran on the team so there’s your leadership, deep drop after deep drop from his receivers and tight ends (many of which would have gone for tds), a run game that stunk (much of that was on the OL)...I mean he had nothing on his side, and didn’t have a veteran QB to help him until he went out from an elbow injury. Then he came back and things clicked. This kid is going to be special. My Bills have a much better team around him now. Best Bills offseason in years.

They say he didn't have receivers to throw to, but Carson Wentz played at North Dakota State, not exactly a powerhouse with NFL prospects everywhere yet he didn't have this low of a completion percentage. In NFL you have to throw into tight windows anyhow, not having open receivers is not a good excuse because under NFL standard they are considered open. The only reason any team would bother drafting him in 1st round even if he's a project that needs to sit out a year or two is because elite QBs are very hard to come by, and he at least has all the physical tools.

@jberczi66 жыл бұрын
jeremy deveraux So what you're saying is that playing college for 3 years is going to drastically change one's ability to handle to cold? Why would one be able to adapt in college but not in the pros? The criticism just has no logical backing.
@jberczi66 жыл бұрын
jeremy deveraux I'm sorry man, this argument is over. I understand your points, and while they are true to an extent, they have no relevance or meaning. Darnold is the far superior prospect, and it's not necessarily hard to determine that. Allen has far too many flaws to be considered, positional value aside, even a day two pick. I'm going to imagine you're some fellow, from Wyoming or further north trying to apply relevance to a topic with very little to begin with because you can relate to it with your prior experience. I'm no meteorologist, I'm just analysing these prospects, and have come to a conclusion that every sound minded scout in the nation also has. This is my last response.

Mike Legero Nothing to do with skin color, they’re covering Lamar Jackson next Thursday. It’s because Barrett was garbage and just on a talented team with loads of NFL talent.

#1 Pick Best - Big Ben 2.0 worst Joe Flacco 2.0 how can Browns go wrong in the AFC North. The football Gods someone shined a light in Cleveland and said your old GM passed on Carson Wentz here's his clone all you have to do is pull the trigger.

Very quick release, canon for an arm. Reminds me a lot of Philip Rivers.

Rivers has a pretty decent arm.

I wouldn't even pick this guy in the 3th round, terrible touch on any ball over 35 yards or more. He's just gunna be giving the ball to the defense with throws like this smh. Jay Cutler 2.0 lol
@El_Roy556 жыл бұрын
Don't try to blame it on his team either. Your supposed to time throw to the receiver not make them chase it. Can't just throw it and hope for the best but in some cases you have to like on a Hail Mary

@crosbonit6 жыл бұрын
If I were a GM, I would put a lot of weight on the caliber of the guy's opponents. Apparently, this is not what they do. Why else did so many teams pass on DeShaun Watson? Watson played against tough teams and won consistently. The he stepped into the NFL and played lights out as a rookie. Who does Wyoming play? Idaho St? Utah St? Allen has not been refined in true fire and will be lacking in certain intangibles. Nevertheless, GMs are still salivating over his physique and arm strength and he'll go really high in the draft. To me, I'm looking at another Blake Bortles.
@haydencook6826 жыл бұрын
Definitely the most potential in the draft as a QB. Not the most refined, but damn it's satisfying just to watch him throw.
