My favorite part about most of these plays is that once the big men have the ball, every single one of their teammates are giving their absolute all to make sure they get as many yards as they can
@djp928 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Was just gonna say the same thing. It always seems like everyone else just gets so excited when they realize a lineman has the ball. They know this is likely the only time he’s ever gonna do this and they all find another gear trying to get him to the house 😂 It rarely happens though, partly because the big guys just don’t have the speed or stamina, but also because the other team has the opposite reaction-they do NOT want to be on the bad end of one of these “big man with the ball” highlights so they work their asses off to shut it down.

For those of us who were in the Superdome for this [Fall 1994] game (just 3 rows from the top from the far end zone of this play unwinding), regardless of who was pulling/cheering for in respects to their team, we ALL were amazed watching Larry Allen drop down & kick-in the over drive sprint to run down that defender & (unfortunately) prevent the Pick 6! I got to meet Refrigerator Perry in a Walmart in Reno NV in 1997. He was set up at a little table signing black and white pics of his TD at SBXX. My wife told me to go say hello while she shopped. I approached the table and shook his hand. He talked to me for almost 45 minutes. During that time, no one else stopped by. When my wife was done paying, she stopped by to see how much his signed pics were. He said $15, but because I was the only person to stop and say hello in the past hour, he signed one and just gave it to me. I tried paying, but he said he appreciated me just letting him talk about his NFL days. I still have that picture.

funny story about vince wilfork ~in late 90's everyone knew me and friends as The AFC East Dudes. A Jets fan & Bills fan & we were all surrounded by Dolphin Fans as this was Lantana/LakeWOrth,South Florida. The Bills fan was the loudest of the crew & oldest at 23 in 1998/99...... We would see Vince at the bowling alley as the Jet Fan went to HS with him at Santaluces. Vince was just a regular super huuge hs football player (THIS WAS 1 YEAR BEFORE HE LEARNED HE WAS GOING TO MIAMI) ~The trash talking was inetense at the time as The Bills & Jet fan ragged him for running track and being so fat & slow. Nobody got beat up cause it was all love and this is how GenX was.... TomBrady hadn't happened yet.. And when dude went to New ENgland it's no wonder that his greatest stats came against Buffalo... Jets & Dolphins got it too but not as bad.. Wilfork intentionally took out Buffalo's QB's 4 times! twice with lengthy injuries... He was a beast & will always be the player from my hometown who ironically had the greatest impact on my team... I dunno if people knew that a big fat kid like him ran track. Dude could boogey for sure!!! And people laughed but he took it serious & had a hellova career as The Real Deal.. He was a force in his own way. Becaus eof this i don't ''hate" him like i do Brady or Seymour. Actually i don't hate alot of my most disliked rivals. Just the POS ones... If not for the hometown thing i for sure would hate WIlfork.. Like i said he took out more AFC East QB's then any other division rival d-lineman. Back then we did celebrate taking out a player with injury.. Todays football is too soft for that & pretend they don't cheer when a rivals RB goes down...gimmie a break.. None of Wilforks QB's died or retired. :D
