The thumbnail is damning evidence for a false narrative of Josh. He is still in warrior mode and it was immediately after the KO. Everyone celebrates…and Bryce even thanked him for not following up. In that moment he was just an adrenaline fueled victor who knew the job was done. Thank you for defending Josh Uncle Chael 🤘🏼 And I’ve been becoming an Emmet fan since his return. (I was a casual before he got injutred) I think one more fight at minimum is all he needs for his undisputed title shot.

Maybe it was a competitive instinct that made Emmett celebrate the way he did. He was pretty vocal leading up to this fight that he’s lost some big fights recently and is obviously not getting any younger, and that finish was exactly what he needed. He handled that as best as anyone could reasonably ask him to all things considered.

It's a yes and no. While it was visually extremely brutal, in terms of concussive damage you'd much prefer a 1 and done over let's say a tony/gaethje, max/ortega etc. You know what I mean? Like Bryce is gonna walk away from that barely feeling like he was in a fight versus someone who's brain that's been rattled for 3-5 rounds straight

Brian Ortega. That makes sense to me. I also wouldn't mind seeing him change weight classes because I really don't see him challenging for the title at 145 at this point. I don't see him getting through Max Halloway. I don't see him getting a rematch with Yair. Giga or Arnold Allen also come to mind as great fights, but to be honest, I see him more as a gate keeper and trying to get him in exciting fights. The person I'd actually have loved to see him fight the most was Korean Zombie. I even think a Barboza fight could be fun.

I just wish Josh knew how to market himself. I want Josh to be successful but it’s almost like he doesn’t want himself to be successful. I watched the post fight press conference and Josh basically let the media come to their own conclusions on everything they asked him rather than telling them what he wants to do next. They asked “Josh who do you want to fight next?” And he just kept saying “whoever will get me closer to the title.” And that’s just such a non answer I wish he knew how to speak better because he would be SO much better off at getting the title fight on Volk or Illia. He’d also avoid situations like this because people would know who he is as a person and would know that this headline simply wouldn’t be true. As for who’s next I think he should absolutely try and get Arnold Allen, or I would’ve said Ortega because I think that’d be another easy win for him. But anybody but max or Illia. Both guys I think easily take care of Josh and he needs to avoid losing if he wants the belt.

Holloway is a derailment for everyone that faces him, and i dont find the match up especially compelling when you think about the size difference and who max Holloway is. Volkanovski, I'd watch if he beats Ilia, and volk hasnt been shy about giving guys that almost deserve title shots, title shots. But thats very dependent on Volk winning and wanting to stay active enough to throw the guy a bone. I think he has to fight backwards and stay active enough for volk to respect him, and pray that volk beats ilia.
