Josh Groban & Josh Shpak | "Stages" PBS TV - "OLD DEVIL MOON"

Twenty-two year old trumpeter, Josh Shpak, who I (Michael Miller - “Mickle”) mentored since he was 9, was selected by Josh Groban to be the featured trumpet soloist on his 2015 PBS TV Special, "STAGES", which was taped at Los Angeles Theatre on Aug. 8, 2015 and began airing across the USA on Nov. 28, 2015. This performance is also included in the 2016 Grammy-nominated CD/DVD release titled "STAGES LIVE".

Josh Shpak and Josh Groban did a marvelous job on this classic song. The trumpet sounds just glided in the air like feathers blowing in a gentle breeze and the vocals of Josh Groban were, of course, fantastic, as usual. Both Joshes are to be commended and PBS is to be commended as well for its ongoing arts programs which are absent, in my opinion, from most other television network, be it over-the-air or cable or satellite. PBS has had a long-term commitment with arts programs and southern California is fortunate to have 3 PBS channels and their assortment of digital subchannels. Both Joshes complemented each other so well here. I had missed this on PBS when it had aired due to what was the beginning of long-term health issues within my family, but the music helps to make it much more bearable than without.

@@bigeyezzzzzzz Yes, it was enjoyable to watch and thank you so very much for the positive words for the health issues that have been in occurrence within my family for some time. The music, past and present, helps provide diversion. The trumpet sounds of Josh Shpak resemble a breath of fresh air in that regard!!! Josh Groban is within his own categories as a vocalist. It has been nice to watch him mature vocally over the years back from when times were better in my life and that includes the cultural touchstones for so many others as well.
