I am sitting alone in my Airbnb having done laundry and cleaned up, waiting to go to work tomorrow and got in the music mood, and Josh you can ease the feelings of anyone in any mood, be it lonely, be it distance, be it death of a loved one, or all of them, you raise us all up with your voice. Hello, Mr. Duboi, Do you know about a God who loves you? The Lord Jesus Christ, who shed His blood for you? Since you have spare time where you are stationed, pick up a New Testament, and begin to read in the Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - which are the eye-witness accounts of Jesus as He walked the dusty streets of Jerusalem and other Jewish cities, over two thousand years ago. These accounts, which are true, and known as "The Gospels," tell us of many interactions that the Saviour had with ordinary people. Read these accounts daily, and make a habit of it - and you will be blessed. Hand your life over to this great Saviour, who told Nicodemus in the garden (John 3) "You must be born again." I will be praying for you.

I don't think Josh Groban is underappreciated. The entire world as it were knows he's a tremendous singer. But some songs just need to be left alone. This is one of them
@Snarethedrummer3 жыл бұрын
@@sulatlalaki you're correct in that he's not underappreciated. I think you're quite wrong about songs being "left alone". Covers are vitally important to make old music accessible to newer generations. I'm in my 30s and wouldn't know this song at all if not for this cover. "Leaving songs alone" are the best way to have them lost and forgotten to time. Vocal megastars from Dolly to Pavarotti sing songs that they didn't write, the tradition is long-standing and serves a valid purpose. You're more than welcome to not like (and presumably not give attention to) a cover, but there is no song 'sacred' enough to not sing, as well as no individual qualified enough to make such a designation.

For all of those who have lost a child, I pray for peace for you. I lost my son to suicide this past July 23rd. His new home is Heaven and each day is closer than the day before to seeing him.

Yes, I agree. It was a beautiful song when it first came out decades ago written and sung by Don McLean and is still a gentle, lovely song now. Glad Josh brought new fans to it, and that it is remembered by a new audence and is not forgotten.

The first time heard this song decades ago i fell in love with it. Thank you josh Groban for a wonderful cover of this song. I heard in one of your interviews that you also suffer from depression like Vincent and like me. It's really a hard struggle. May our Lord Jesus Christ bless us always to overcome all the trials in our lives.

This is one of the saddest songs ever written and I know Josh will give all the emotion and depth of a Van Gogh's painting. Yes, it's perfect. It never makes me feel sad as others often say it does. It came onto the top of the charts when I was young, and in a really happy and exciting time during my first adventure overseas. Perhaps that 'feeling' of euphoria prevailed. It still does for me. 7.2020.

This was the version the first time I heard this song sung actually. I got gooses every time I watched or listened to this. Then I found Don's original version. I was surprised cos I can't see emotions from his face and voice even. I guess the song itself perhaps should be dealt with subtly and tasted slowly. Gradually I fell in love with Don and his version. But when I turned back, I still get gooses from Josh's singing. He is SIMPLY amazing! Love Josh's interpretation. btw thanks for sharing it with us Ana!
