I grabbed a couple of those British jersey's and a crap load of the woolen buffs. Those buffs make great gifts, of great to leave them in the car, the office, the pack, etc...

Old style Swanndri from the late 80s still going strong.. have started replacing all my technical fabric outdoor gear with wool. Going back to the past; natural fibres, although heavy, will keep you warm + alive. Down is for indoors. Polypro gets stinky. Fleece is useless in the wet. Wool ftw!

Good information Josh. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest of Washington State. We used some of the stuff. Wool always worked he best.

Now this is more my style! An old wooley pully and a swandri. No matter what kind of raingear, if it doesnt wick up the sleeves, it gets wet from the inside. What do you (or commenters) have to say about MKMs 33.6 like the tasman pullover or jacket? or Norsewear's stockman? worth the price? I am in USA and can't get my hands on one or find reviews but I am looking for some new wools and I have a few wooley pulleys (wearing that same OD color one right now) that I live in all the time and Im curious how well these two hold up compared to the basic (older 100%wool) military sweaters in terms of wear/ durability and warmth. Swandri, Ive already made up my mind but may just go for the ranger even though the ones I saw that sold me on it where the anorak style. I may be poor, but these seem like items worth the cost. Nothing beats wool, and my rainsuit rarely gets used, for some of the same reasons as the video. Id rather be warm, than dry.

The mkm jerseys are a blend of possum and wool so are not as hard wearing as the boiled wool (swandri) but they are a lot warmer. I recommend the mkm wool t shirts and if your not pushing through branches the knitted wool will be fine. Cheers!

Great, thank you! And curse you... but that's a GOOD LUCK curse! I just had to say curse you, 'cause I spent a bunch more.. but absolutely in a friendly good luck way 'cause I'm glad I looked at more stuff. I'm getting a bunch of wool. I don't like amazon unless there is no other choice. Too many reasons to list so I'll say 27$ a can of filson wax, only 10 from filson, soon it will be Bills-sons wax at 35 and no filson carried. I also got the shearers tee since sometimes the I like the tougher wools that felt up later on. I wouldn't have found more deals if you hadn't mentioned T-shirts. I'm usually a second hand budget, so it will be nice to have some things new, that I actually picked rather than because it is the only wool on the surplus shelf. You didn't know it but you started me on a chain reaction and I found a better retailer and even buy 1get 1 MKM shirts. I may just buy my wools straight from Nz, Au or Ireland from now on. Buy it where it is more common kind of thinking paid off. So I came back to say thanks again.

Do you reckon Stoney Creek stow lite jacket would be good for tramping ans bush bashing?
@joshjameskiwibushman2 жыл бұрын
Probably not great for bush bashing and scrub cutting. Good as a back up jacket though if you're not pushing through scrub

Chur brother how tall are you and what size is your mkm singlet? This thing is worthy of a review on its own, can't find one yet. Had one years ago and it got stolen. Just wondering size for 6 ft boney guy to get a snug fit. I remember it was long and kept that heat in. Thanks for the overall piece I agree. Go the swanny sure its saved a few lives.
