Everything in this interview was a lie, you could see it in the movements around his eyes, most of the time he told lies, he did a hard blink or something and when asked about the violent incident with German tourists, he gulped. Strong guilt there. The only time he looked honest, was when he said he didn't use drugs. However, that doesn't mean he doesn't sell drugs to other people. Also you don't need to join a gang to get ahead in life. I know plenty of people from Otara, etc, who did huge things in their lives (the honest way), high salary and even kids at a private school, even fame, etc, and they certainly didn't need to join a gang in order to get there. NZ is lucky, in that anyone, from any suburb, can get ahead, if they truly want to. He talks about opportunities, there are already plenty of opportunities, those kids just need to take them, work hard, treat people well, etc, and they will get the job they want, etc.

Why do u think these kids in Otara drive around in dirt bikes with no licence, breaking all kinds of rules without a care in the world? Because the hardest part about it is stealing the bike. After that you do what you want. Waaay easier than going through the licence stages which takes years, then finding enough money to buy a bike, and on top of that getting a bike licence. My point is these kids take the easy way out, they give up easily from the start. Every year in school they are more and more behind in learning, by the time they are teenagers their brains are still primary school level, so what now? Join a gang, they will accept all brain levels as long as you are keen to do some crime.
