You heard it here first folks, the B1G cares more about financial stability than the integrity of the game. I can promise you that the rest of the B1G programs will not let the conference hear the end of it if they refuse to punish Michigan due to financial reasons.

If you’ve watched a drop of big conference college football in the past decade, this isn’t news to anybody. B1G. SEC. ACC. Big 12. All operate the same. And you wanna know how much the other schools will complain? Zero. Because teams that networks want to cover are the reason that Indiana and Illinois get paid nearly $100M per year. And despite how much you might protest, that’s all the institutions care about.

Bc “tattoos” is how OSU fans twisted what happened in Columbus. There were much broader issues going on like, it wasn’t trading a few things for tattoos, guys were getting paid good amounts of money, cars, etc. the tattoo shop they were working with was under federal investigation and the owner was convicted of drug trafficking and money laundering. The shop owners lawyer(who was a OSU football alum) was communicating directly with tressel about things like when shipments of “memorabilia” were coming in… he instructed tressel of what was going on, tressel acknowledged what was going on in emails for months, the lawyer actually had to tell him to stop naming players in emails (bc he was incriminating ppl) the. Tressel signed a document saying he knew of nothing that violated NCAA rules. The players got caught, tressel lied again, the players got punished, tressel lied again on national tv, and then his emails got leaked and he finally had to admit it… The issue was that tressel was in on it, after the fact, players were coming out saying it was rampant that players were getting paid, there was an investigation by the bureau of motor vehicles bc they were giving cars to players, when players are getting paid(when it was against the rules to pay players) it affects your ability to recruit… on top of that, at the time the NCAA had a habit of punishing programs in a way that had a heavy impact on the student athletes and they’ve since come out and said they want to try and avoid that. So sorry if I think the “it was just tattoos” lie, is complete bull sh*t…

Sounds a lot like the whining coming out of Ann Arbor in the midst of MissedAgain‘s epic near twenty year losing streak to the Buckeyes. Honestly, Michigan is really getting hammered for the 2 previous years and early season 2023. Obviously connor stalions being on the sidelines was a 2023 activity, but it probably didn't have a huge influence on the games. Not like 2021 and 2022. CJ Stroud is TORCHING the NFL and your telling me he couldn't figure out how to beat Michigan? give me a break. clearly Michigan had a competitive advantage from cheating.

As a Michigan fan I’d agree somewhat with your point, I think what a lot of Michigan fans are asking is what’s the price and whose tab are they picking up? Bc if stallions acted alone, which it seems like he did based on actual verifiable information, and he got fired, how much are you asking for Michigan and its current roster of student athletes to pay? Most of the other NOA listed items are pretty ticcy tack. Like the harbaugh show cause was pretty wild bc the violations were incredibly minor and their reasoning was that he didn’t want to give them his personal cell phone when he was being accused of something without proof. Especially since the thing he had gotten in trouble for was only a violation bc there were differences in how they could communicate during Covid restrictions… same thing now, where one moored biggest allegation is that he’s had minor issues but he’s been in trouble more than once. But this time they’re claiming he deleted texts relating to the investigation but he himself recovered and turned over those texts for the actual investigation… so like, that’s the question, what’s the price to pay and are they being treated fairly by the NCAA in how they’ve handled this or does the NCAA have an axe to grind with this program…

@@danielmcdonald4699 I don’t think what stallions was doing is that big of an advantage, I say this objectively bc when the advanced scouting rule was put in place the rules committee flat out said it did not provide a significant advantage. Especially since even though he may have been scouting games in unapproved ways, Michigan still had access to anything stallions could have gotten himself… I point this out bc if the argument is that everyone at Michigan benefited from this line actors crimes, well then how do we quantify what that benefit was? And that’s important bc it dictates what the punishment should be.

Couple Questions…. 1. If Michigan is so powerful and almighty…why even record one game (thus cheating) , I heard they sent Conner & his friends (Conner & Friends😂) and recorded 58 games…that seems interesting. 2. If there was no competitive advantage, why cheat? 3. If he was a lowly staffer…why & how did he get to stand next to both…The OC & DC during games…that seems interesting. Do most lowly rogue interns/assistants get to stand next to Coordinators like that and give input,🤔 Wow. 4. If you went to and recorded 58 games, I wonder who paid for all of that…tickets, parking, food, lodging, etc. 5. If Conner did no wrong..,why did he not turn in his laptop to NCAA, especially if he had nothing to hide? 6. If this was nothing…why has Michigan lost 9/10 coaches (Mike Hart) (Michigan Man) just left…no new job…just left,🤔 and not even in top 10 in recruiting currently coming off a Natty…that seems interesting. 7. There’s a ton more questions, but I’m sure the Netflix Special with Conner will explain that there was no wrong done at all and Michigan should get an apology for all the NCAA has put them through, 😂😂😂.

The NCAA has moved quickly for their standards on this. I expect they want to get the punishments out right after this season. Looking at how they’ve punished teams in the past for much less severe cheating, I assume we are looking at some pretty serious penalties coming. I bet they face significant scholarship penalties, 2.5 seasons of vacated wins, and a multi year postseason ban (which is basically just a conference champ game ban in the CFP era). They were an average team before they started cheating, so the cheating obviously had a massive impact on their success. It’s rare to see a program go from almost firing their coach to a winning a natty in just 3 years.
