The reason BYU is an anomaly when you compare win-loss results to recruiting rankings is that they have a high degree of “legacy kids”. Many of their recruits didn’t play the recruiting game and do the camp circuit to get recognized, because they knew they were always going to BYU (because they are Mormons and/or they’re sons or nephews of former BYU players…BYU’s roster has a lot of those). So they tend to be underrated when it comes to recruiting stars. To add to that, Coach Sitake has a specific and intentional philosophy to recruit potential/talent over performance/stats and develop the talent. Look at Zach Wilson, 3 star QB who became #2 overall draft pick, and Tyler Allgeier who had no other offers and turned into a Rd 4 RB draftee who may end up starting for the Falcons at some point this year.

I think the general expectation on Auburn in 2022 is pretty low. Auburn grads, boosters, fans, and SEC fans probably have high expectations, but it the gamblers across the country are betting the O/U at 6 wins, then most of America has low expectations for Auburn. Now, consider that Auburn hosts Mercer, San Jose State, and Western Kentucky, then the line to bet is Auburn finishing 3-6 against P5 schools, 5 of which are at Auburn. That seems like pretty low expectations.

How much does your pre season ranking effect your week 3 and there on rankings?? For example an AP 23 ranked team who plays in Pac10 or ACC is 8 and 0. They played no1 good. Maybe they played one good team at home at night in a good spot and bad spot for the visitor team and caught them. By week 9 this team will be in the top 10 or just outside it and knocking on the door. 100 percent. Bc eveey team ahead of them will most likely have 1-2 losses. But in reality this team should never have jumped up abs maybe shouldn't have been in my top 25 to begin with. If this same team was pre season ranked 10, tbey would be in the top 4!!! This same team if they were pre season AP out of the 25 and realistically labeled like the 60th best team in the country. A true sleeper. They would be like ranked 17th or worse by week 9 week 10. If someone does this for a living than they I don't get how the pre season aren't completely scrapped by week 7. Clearly you keep it in your head as a minor tool but maybe I'm also missing soemthing. But I re group weekly. I would love to stay in touch Bc it's so hard to find people with valid reasons and actually do this to survive. I've tried to put together teams and find peiole and everyone says this and that but it doesn't take long to realize they don't know Jack shit and read/watch too much sports media and stuff. That's why I'm really happy I found this page. You always need people who know stuff even if you are an opposing team if they have valid reasoning but we all know only 1 Percent can do it and the entire world wants to be a handicapper now so it's hard. And bravo to you for not promoting sales daily down watchers throats selling picks. Those fly by night SCAMDICAPPERS are ruining this industry but without them we won't get holes in the lines Bc so many idiots buy pics from dumb people abs bet those terrible spots. But anyway I'm rambling Bc I'm nervous and excited for 9/3/22. I took the last 6 mknths off thankfully I was able to focus on other parts of my life abs learned the hard way many times that once CBB season ends and NHL season....... I need to enjoy the fruit of my labor and just work on other things and clear my mind of sports Bc once summer ends I will be back to the daily non stop roller coaster grind for 6 months. @@heatherphillips5983 Ah we found the casual, who thinks logos play these games, that never change, rather than individuals who make up a different roster every year. We just hired the undisputed best defensive mind in college football, who was widely viewed as not only the best coordinator, but also the one who made the biggest impact on his school. Even with last year's transfers, our blue chip ratio is higher than last year, 4th in the country. And a huge number of the transfers in, were on defense and they all have game experience. Furthermore, our defensive roster has always been great, all this time. It's just been bad coaching, bad development and bad strength and conditioning. You can think OUs defense will be the same as last year. It's a free country. But you won't think that at the end of the year, friend. Also, since you haven't been keeping up it seems, last year the Big 12 was the best defensive league. It's not 10 teams all running the spread anymore. Times change. Coaches change. Systems get figured out. New systems are created. Change is the only constant in college football.
@Tijuanabill2 жыл бұрын
@@fhdhhghbkn3759 So nothing about his history of coaching is relevant, because this is just so different being a HC vs a coordinator? The dude coached in 8 of the last 20 national championship games. TBOW was never a head coach before OU, is that what you said then, that we would go 5-7? Bob Stoops had never been a head coach before. Barry Switzer had never been a head coach before. Bud Wilkinson...first time head coach just a couple years before setting the most unbreakable record in sports, the 47 game win streak. Also Bennie Owen, the dude our playing surface is named after, first time HC. Most new coaching staffs have to rebuild the program, because the last guy lost and got fired. We were among the favorites to make the playoff going in to last year. Now, our roster is improved, as a mathematical fact, and we have a guy that can run a defense. I don't see a set back for us, for ND, or for Oregon, to name the other new HCs taking over for winning programs. Are we going to flip the switch, and become the new Alabama in year one of BV? No, of course not. It will take 2-3 years before Saban retires. 🤣🤣

@@heatherphillips5983 not an Oklahoma fan by any means but OU should easily jump half the SEC immediately off talent alone, the ole miss’s MSST’s, Arkansas’s, vandy’s, currently Florida, etc aren’t exactly juggernauts. Name the last program in the SEC that’s dropped 48 on UGA. Oklahoma will only really take a backseat to Bama, UGA, and possibly a resurgent LSU program and even that’s debatable. I get it you have to D ride your entire conference to feel better about your individual program, but the only two that are above OU right now are Bama and UGA.
