I hope you get to read all of this even if it's long😂 also you missed the date with the boys! Evaluating Cloud's behavior in all the dates, I'm pretty sure that Aerith doesn't get a kiss because the scenes aren't optional romances, the only option is the character you get and they don't impact Cloud's feelings. In each of the "dates" you see the various dynamics Cloud would have with the characters normally. None of them are really romantic in nature unless Cloud wants it and he showed us the only one in which he makes a move is Tifa's, while in Aerith's he's just comforting her while she's still figuring out her feelings towards Zack and he can sense that so that's why he takes her hand. Not only he can sense that, but he also mentions how Aerith still loves Zack to Tifa (I'm almost sure Aerith is gonna get that kiss with Zack, unless they focus on the main party more). That's why Aerith lies to Cloud that she hasn't talked to Tifa about Zack and tries so hard to move on, telling Cloud to indulge her just until the ride is over. Then their date ends and Cloud says "I haven't done anything though" because for him he's just helping a friend and spending time with her (he also sits away from her when she tells him to sit next to her which is telling). The awkwardness you mentioned in Aerith and Tifa's dates is different as in the first case Cloud and Aerith are on a different lane and there's a lot of melancholy and confusion in Aerith's words and actions both towards herself and towards Cloud, while in Tifa's date the awkwardness becomes tension and expectation, because both of them have feelings for each other but they're inexperienced, so it all comes out a bit stiff and nervous (Tifa fiddling a lot with her fingers, Cloud clenching his hands, Tifa trying to find the right words etc). Not counting how in chapter 8 if you get Aerith she pulls Cloud towards the skywheel, while with Tifa they hold hands and walk together side by side. The Yuffie date it's a sibling-like one obviously (and even there Tifa is mentioned), with Yuffie having a little crush on Cloud, but something a teenager would feel and not mutual. Them playing around and Cloud having so much fun is still super cute, I feel like it's one of the best dates because Cloud gets to "unleash" his inner child. Barret's date is like a father and son one, he talks about his wife, grief and gives Cloud life lessons, telling him that he shouldn't waste time with love and to confess to the person he cerishes (which Cloud did in Tifa's date), in Red/Nanaki's one there's a lot of friendship being showcased, it's adorable, but there's also a lot of foreshadowing for... events. Lastly, there's the date with the boys which is meant to be comic relief and it's supposed to be what happens when you don't progress much in the dialogues and sidequests with the others but it's so amazing and funny, so it's a win-win situation anyway. It's amazing that it exists in the first place.

Thanks for the comment. My thought's on the whole love triangle would need a separate video. The gist is that Cloud loves both girls. In the larger context, Aerith has moved on from Zack. Much in the way that Aerith is the tie-breaker for the player, Tifa is the tie-breaker for Cloud. I was pleasantly surprised with most of the dates. Ones I thought would be comedic were actually very heart-warming. I'd say that Barret's is more of a neutral comment as far as the females goes. He literally asks "So who is it?" Yuffie's date was a surprise, too. Definitely one of the best. I'm definitely glad they added all of the characters into the dates. I'm sure the fans love it as much as I do.
