In this short episode, I'm back with my buddy Chip's '04 GTO installing an MSD 2-step.
A 2-step is a secondary rev limiter used primarily to get consistent launches at the drag strip by not allowing the engine to rev pat a certain RPM when you start your run. And guess what? It's different than installing it on an 05-06. Watch to find out how!

how did you get the connector out????

There are 8 fingers on the C100 connector under the dash side of the firewall. They all need to be pushed in and the connector will come out. Start with the top ones and work your away and to the bottom slowly pushing the connector into the engine bay as you go.

Where's the adjustment for the RPMs and how do you change it?

There are dials you turn with a Precision screwdriver on the side of the box. One is in thousands and the other is in hundreds.

Yea I went and bought this. But then found out how to do it on HP tuner s Plus backfire. I don’t even use it anymore.

So your saying you don't have to buy the 2 step then to get the same thing?

Nope. You can just go into the tune file and set what rpm you want to cut and resume. (Fuel that is.) People say “don’t cut fuel” but if you know what your doing with the throttle plate settings you’ll be fine!
