Not bad man considering the conditions. I know it feels great. Especially that slight car shake you get at times. My 04 with bolt-ons and a RPM level 5 tranny with a Vig 3k stall put down 330hp on the dyno. My first cam was a 228r and I loved it...but Of course I blew that motor and dropped in a LS3 short-block stroker 418. But hey. Gotta pay to play. Keep that Goat looking good. 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻

Josh great video and explanations. I've always heard the streetsweeper ht was supposed to be good for a daily driver although it's intake/exhaust and lift numbers are a bit higher. 228*-232*-111*-.612"-.600. Do you have any thoughts on this cam shaft or what it would do compared to your powercurve?
@JoshsCarCorner6 жыл бұрын
If I could do it again, I probably would have gone with a bit more duration, something like 224/230. On a stock LS2 head, there's not a lot more to be gained with going over .600 lift, the head just won't support it. Stock cathedral port heads tend to run out of airflow over .550 lift. Also, it means you most likely will have to run dual valve springs and heavy duty rockers, but that's another discussion entirely.

In your experience are the gm flex fuel sensors really accurate? Like could they pick up around 0-10% percent ethanol that's found in the pump gas here in California?
@JoshsCarCorner6 жыл бұрын
David totally. My sensor always picks up 10 to 11% ethanol content on regular pump gas. I would say they're accurate to within 2%.

Surprised you brought it up to almost 7,000 rpm's when redline is a little over 6,000 rpm's. Not good for the engine IMO.
@JoshsCarCorner6 жыл бұрын
The bottom end can easily support it. The factory redline is 6,600 RPM. The valvetrain is the weak link to revving it higher and that's been upgraded.
@JB543796 жыл бұрын
@@JoshsCarCorner Great to hear about the valvetrain. I was hoping you weren't revving that many RPM's stock. I love my 2004, that I've owned since new and bought, stock. One owner, me. I would love to beef it up but there are so many options I'm not sure which to go if I ever do. I love the car stock. The 2004 stock exhaust is the best and it still offers power that will beat 98% of the cars on the road today. Heads and cam are what I am thinking but I personally am not certain. What is your suggestion for the best priced, highest horsepower option, for the LS1 2004 GTO's?

I don't want to be rude but this guy knows little to nothing so don't take his advise one example cams a cam is set to the flow rate of your head's you don't take a stock motor and throw a high lift cam. The. Flow rate of you head's determines the duration of your cam you will lose power and efficiency with the wrong cam this gentleman has no clue it shows in the engine output with the parts you should be 500 plus only God knows what other mistakes he made I'm not downing this guy he's a nice person and I'm sure he means well I was not going to say anything but to save other's from wasted time and money I got to say something he would have been better of with a chip a good tune and change shift points if a 4 speed auto you can get more out of your car than he did my friend did this and got 43hp and a good torque curve a 6.0 starts with 400 hp so did he go up or down

One more thing the hp of a motor has nothing to do with torque who knows what he is thinking but he needs a class or two on auto performance someone please help this guy out before he hurts himself 🐑🚬

The equation to calculate horsepower is simple: Horsepower = Torque x RPM / 5,252. Explain your inability to understand this.
