Great stuff Joshua, I especially liked the initial kernel of creating a polyrhythmic beat and then juxtaposing that with a unique subdivision of a melodic chord progression. Thank you. I love the insight into your creative process.

Ignorant question, but how did you do the drums in this? I'm a drummer but I struggle with MIDI drums in terms of getting demo stuff down. Your way seemed quite streamlined!

What a super cool thing to watch! 2 cents: a strong reverse reverb on the intro to vocals would help blend, and a continuance of that reverse reverb echo, very dimly, would make for added texture. I feel that the atk is too strong. the reverse/reverb/echo would be before the voice comes in, giving a listener to comfortably predict what's about to happen which is always nice in a heavy polyrhythmic and complex atmosphere. Side note: yall gotta chill more. Both of you together or solo just when working on projects. You know what you're doing and it's creating the "nervous leg" and that's fueling your scrambles to show off in a sense. You can see the nervous energy early. Idk if you guys hang out on the regular. I feel like we're in such a niche mindset and musical knowledge that sometimes we overpower the partner to subconsciously want to prove ourselves. maybe that's just the way it is, i.e. i'm doing it now in a sense. But I've had so many people talk over me when I'm literally capable of holding 2 tempos and 5 sequenced tracks in my head and it just feels frustrating. IDK man, I try to practice not being "that guy" and near the end, you both were more relatable to each other. It's like, you can be the best at having intercourse with one person and then try to whip out the moves on the next. I've got more.... but I feel like I'm an asshole if I say more. I hope it's food for thought and not perceived as ego driven. That's the opposite of what I'm saying. I spent so long on this dish that no one asked for. deleting was contemplated, but i thought it could help.
