My mom bought me Man-Bat when I was like 7 for my birthday (that was one of the figures I remember most from my childhood) so the fact that Todd has given us this new figure with some killer articulation and that sculpt is truly beautiful. All I see is that figure I had as a kid. I'm gonna be trying to get this guy to fight my McFarlane Dark Knight Batman with stop motion. Thanks for the great review, a lot nostalgia for me in this one. Oh last little thought, personally I like that he went with the first. I would want him fighting and with certain camera angles I think I can make it look like he's flying. Hope your well my friend

Now this is amazing. One of my favorite Bat rogues captured spectacularly in figure form. I like that even the bottoms of the feet have some detail to them. That's not osmething you see on many figures outside of imports. I do agree with you about the wings though.

"You will believe a man can...bat!" That was great! Thanks for the laugh! I wonder if a solution to the arm/wing issue might have been to include a second set of forearms with open hands and open upper wing. Since the lower part of the wing is a separate piece, a forearm cut would have allowed for swappable hands. I'm sure that would have jacked up the cost considerably and might not have fit in the box, but it would have offered more options. As for the closed/defensive look, it reminds me of when Man-Bat folded his wings up to protect himself in "On Leather Wings" and is a nice visual parallel to when Batman has his cape wrapped around his fists and pulls it up to shield or intimidate. Great review as always!

This Man bat is just awesome, yeah it would be cool if they made another set of arms with open up wings but if you ask me to choose between the open up and closed wings, i prefer closed wings better because it didnt take a lot of space like for example the neca Goliath and they released a closed wings for that figure so its good now.

I feel like interesting creative decisions and Todd always being able to fall back on the best sculpts in the business (at that price point) are what saves this figure. While I love mine and I'm totally stoked to have it, another part of me is saying that McFarlane made a Man Bat figure with wings that don't open! Makes me wish I had gotten that Man Bat based on B:TAS or the Arkham Knight one. It's just that those can't beat the detail in this sculpt.

Major fail not giving a mega fig flight stand for a flying character. the design is from a recent run, in it his wife actually turns out to be an evil she bat and he's just a victim. a bit bummed to see how small claycface is in comparison. good stuff as usual.

Wonderful video for a Wonderful figure. I can't wait to get him and killer croc! Oh and 2:09... btw you just nailed it on my childhood nostalgia right here! Big fan of monsters in general. Werewolves are my favorite monster and I had that same werewolf figure from Ghostbusters as well! I also had a werewolf from the Tales from the Crypt animated series. Hope you have a good day!

Hey from before. Great review I'm really looking forward to this. I really enjoy killer croc even though he is to small. I'm gonna be going in on the Kickstart and if it's successful which I hope it is. Maybe if u do another one you could add a tier that includes a matte finish 6 inch statue or action figure to display with the comic. I know that's a ways off but it could be something to look forward to. McFarlane figures skirt the realm of artwork. This one however puts it across the line. I may not get one until late August or early September though. I just now got the Batman of Zur-en-arrh. Stores in rural areas just plain suck.

Since ankles are so loose having trouble to stand I'm considering getting those supports and put him in a flying position too, it looks coler as well, do I find that Arkham Asylum insignia you have somewhere or is it a custom work?

41 bucks and it's labeled as a deluxe / mega fig. So he's charging more and the back is not painted yet again. Mine can't even stand now because the top is so heavy and the bullshit little stand doesn't do jck shit to keep the figure up. He comes with no accesories and yet he's 41 bucks? I was pissed when I tookine out and noticed the paint job is trash. The purple on the head also looks like shit. I mean the rips on the back of the pants aren't painted at all. I paid 45 bucks for this figure. And yet the retro anniversary vaptain America figure from marvel legends is 38 and he's painted beautifully, has multiple heads, hands and accesories. It costs more because it's big? What a croc of shit. The deluxe hulk figures from marvel legends come with alternate hands and a alternate he'd ND they are only 5 mire bucks. This figure is straight up a rip off. And it hurts because that new captain from marvel legends is leaps and bounds better then this trash. And he's only 3 dollars cheaper. I put t my man bat om the shelf and he is leaning so bad because he can't stand up. McFarlane needs to be called out on this shit. He's been in this industry for decades. There's no excuse for this shit.
