I do door to door for my windows as well, and when homeowners get upset (as they sometimes do) I always approach it as an opportunity to turn them into a discounted customer while still holding my ground. No insults required. Because neighbors talk and I’d like to be called back to that neighborhood for future appointments Either way, they were in the wrong and you did well by taking it to a door and proving the point
