One of the greatest defense lineman not only on Seahawks but in NFL history. Kennedy was so dominating at his position that he drew triple teams sometimes. I remember that dismal 2-14 Seahawk team that had top 10 defense with Cortez Kennedy playing at all-pro level on it.

I had the pleasure of meeting Cortez and chatting with him on more than a few occasions. Our daughters played basketball together at Lake Nona High School in Orlando. Tez was a very nice man, loved to talk about his hunting trips in Arkansas with his friends. I got to visit his home and see his Defensive Player of the Year award and his Super Bowl ring (from N.O. Saints).

I saw Mr. Kennedy in the Kingdome, up close, during pregame warmups. Holy crap, I have never seen such huge calves on a human being. Great player and a good person. I hope he's doing well now. Thank you for the memories.

It's a shame, really. A man with Cortez Kennedy's talent shoulda played with a contender

Guess who had short arms? TEZ! I like to point out that 1) short arms of equal length generate more torque. Physics. 2) Look up a list of the longest arms in NFL combine history and see what you find. There's definitely a sweet spot for arm length that varies based on the type of player. If you're an explosive player whos is great at getting close up to opponents (like a Mike Tyson in boxing) then short arms can be very beneficial.

Tez was a beast! If he was with a franchise that won consistently or won a couple of chips, hell even one chip, Tez would have been universally hailed as the best DT. Shit, he's still the best DT in my book. RIP Tez! Gone too soon! 😞

The Seahawk defense in '92 was very good all-around, and so was their run game. QBs Kelly Stouffer/Stan Gelbaugh/Dan McGwire, and starting rookie OT Ray Roberts (I remember an announcer saying that defensive players would practically get into fights trying to be the to line up against him) were the primary reasons they were so awful on offense.
