@@kurty27 we found a course owner or employee. Joined KZbin today just to defend this horrible course. They booked 4 assuming 4 would show. I do it all the time. Buddy says he’ll try to make it, we book to be sure, buddy doesn’t show, we don’t pay for that missing player. It’s not unheard of, it’s very common. I play 9 holes all the time. I have a job, wife, 4 kids.. time is limited. 9 holes is better than no holes. “Who only plays 9 holes” is a crappy elitist view which is in line with this terrible courses policies. Also, even if having the best finishing holes was true (it’s not) I’m not playing for 16 mediocre and 4 good holes. They weren’t complaining about the animals. The bunkers had more weeds than the empty lot next to my house. The course is hot garbage. Call some of the successful courses in your area and ask some advice

My local course is in way worse condition but the reason they’re literally packed everyday is because they only charge $20 before 3 and $15 after 3 for 9 holes and with discount card it’s only $22.50 for 18 and $11.25 for 9! But the customer service is top notch! They remember everyone’s names, they’re always super polite and will help you with anything! And the course itself isn’t bad the greens just need work! Last year isn’t was in way better shape because it wasn’t as busy from the hurricane but now that it’s so packed everyday it’s had to keep up with a smaller crew! But it’s a fun course design and definitely a tougher course which I love! But down the street a but there’s Southern dunes which is a PGA type course it’s absolutely stunning, me and my brother played there in January it’s was the best course I’ve seen! It literally looked like they were getting ready for a PGA tour event it was so well kept and we paid $136 for 2 for 18 holes and that seemed cheap, also if my brother had paid the day before we would’ve only paid $90 lol

There's a course in the city I grew up in that everyone referred to as "The Goat Ranch". It was so bad that I actually lost a ball on the fairway. The grass was all brown, everywhere, even on the "greens". How they stayed in business was anybody's guess, but it wasn't that expensive to play on, and the only reason I played golf at all was it was cheaper to pay the greens fees and rent a golf cart for the day than to go to the go-cart track. You would be surprised the fun you can have with a golf cart and no brains.

I played a scramble at Stony Brook East 25~26 years ago, about the time it first opened. Obviously, it was in much better shape in those days because the developer was trying to sell new homes. My strongest memory of SBE was coming upon a large, angry Diamondback Rattlesnake on one of the bridges. The course ranger tried to get the snake off the bridge, but all it was doing was coiling up tighter, hissing and spitting. We were directed to take a long detour through the neighborhood to reach the next tee box. The condition of SBE that you found recently is similar to many other Orlando Area subdivision-based golf courses. Once the neighborhoods get built out, course maintenance rapidly declines. In many cases, these types of courses simply get closed for good.

Josh, it's different down here! My wife and I even thought of moving back to Pennsylvania, but the warm weather takes great care of my arthritis. We hit the beach alot, less than a half hour. I'll fill you in on Florida golf someday soon. I was offered a Head Professional position, 2 actually, to come back to Pa, but turned both down. I actually just had something wonderful happen for me Josh. I start next Tuesday, I'll be starting at The Concession Golf Club, which is top 5 in Florida. Wow, this course is only 6 miles from my house and I used to play monthly scrambles there with my son about 12-15 years ago. It was a pretty nice course back then but I think the ownership changed and it appears to have deteriorated. There was another course a few miles north of Stoneybrook, Eastwood, which was a nice course, too, but was closed about 1 1/2 years ago when the owner decided to sell the land for homes and condos. The bunker in front of #3 was never really in good shape but it wasn't as bad as it is now and the course used to have a lot of traffic, especially on weekends. I always liked playing Stoneybrook but I haven't in about 5 years as I'm retired and had less expensive alternatives to the $50 or so green fees. I see green fees are only $29.95 now and it appears the course is desperate to try to get more play. It's too bad that the ownership has let it slide as much as it has, it used to be really nice. (Maybe, they're looking to sell the land and build homes and condos, too.)

I've played some of the worst unrated courses in FLA but they were under $20 - greens at 0.5 on the stimp and you could lose your ball in the grass on the tees if you got distracted. Good for a warm-up after driving hours to get to FLA before starting our play for real on great courses - LOL.

I see that this video was done almost a year ago and that I replied about 3 months ago. Since then, I've played this course about 5 times and the conditions described here have changes somewhat. The awful, muddy trap in front of the 3rd green is now filled with sand and the greens, some of which were in poor shape, have improved, though there are about 4 still in the process of recovery. When it's been rainy, there are some soggy areas on the course but that seems to be true for most courses in the area. The fairways are decent and there are workers on the course taking care of business each time I've been there. This is a long course compared to some of the others in the area and my partner with whom I play and I both enjoy the time. The clubhouse and restaurant/bar have seen better days as the restaurant is closed and the only food available is snacks or sandwiches in the pro shop cooler. I play on Mondays as I'm retired and my partner has Mondays off shift and there's not much traffic there. It's really too bad as a Hot Deal tee time is only $32 and change, a bargain in Florida at this time of year when most courses jack up their rates. It's better than this video would lead you to believe and, if you're in the area, give it a try.

It looks like it was a nice course once. It probably was a country club that failed and was bought by a group that is trying to squeeze every last dollar out of it before closing. We have that happening to several courses out where I live. A company out of China bought up about 8 courses out here and have done the bare minimum in maintenance which has turned several of these really nice courses into a mess. They aren’t as bad as that course but playing them is borderline depressing.

I used to live near this course. The owner wants to sell the course to developers to build apartments on the land, but they are hamstrung by a contractual guarantee with the HOA that it will always be a golf course. They are basically purposely not maintaining it in hopes that homeowners will get frustrated by the dropping property values and will agree to a compromise.

The signs not having any information at all for the holes is crazy. My local golf course is $40 for 4 people to play 18 holes and they have hole information on the signs. They’re charging $300 for 9 holes and there’s no hole information at all? That’s a little crazy. OK, I've made tee times for 4 somes and had it where someone didn't show up. When I get to the course they ask if I'm paying for everyone, and I say no, the other guys will pay when they get here. I just pay for my own and walk to the practice green. If someone does not show up, I have not been chased down to pay for them.

You should check out some of the worst rated around Mrytle Beach if you haven't already. I played a course called the Heritage Club. It was a good deal with 65 dollars but they awful management that don't know how to separate tee times. We went off on the front nine in an hour and a half to only get to the back nine where they sent off people in front of us without telling us that's what they do and it ended up taking over three hours to play the back nine alone

I would have walked away as soon as they tried to charge for no shows. I would have stopped ALL payments and they collect 0 dollars, everyone is more dumber for the experience and may God have mercy on your soul, because I sure won’t!

there's a small par 3 course here in Jacksonville called Palm Valley Golf Club that charges $21 for 9 holes and a push cart, it is 100x better and friendlier than this place. Yall should play there and give em some publicity

In northern Ohio this would be a 28 bucks for 18 and a cart. For 60 you are getting top tier golf courses with every amenity possible.

I pay 14 dollars to walk nine holes after work at a nice course in SW Ohio. It’s in way better shape than this place.

I guess if they had anybody playing the course they wouldn’t have to worry about 130$….. I feel bad for the staff, they have to apologize for the owners doing. Can’t stand people like that, I did contract work for a billionaire he was lucky to find 6 pallbearers when he passed…. Great video!! You were a professional through the end….

Hey guys I just got done washing your round of golf at Stoneybrook East in Orlando Florida I grew up right around the corner from there at Rio Pinar Country Club I believe Mike Regner would be the head pro there still I cannot believe that place has turned into such a dump. Anyway you guys kept it straight man appreciate guys thank you you didn't brag on it too bad because when it was built it with Primo with a lock mine but looks terrible now next time I'm down there I'm not talkin Mike find out what happened I actually live in Salt Lake City Utah house oh wait for the snow to melt so I can play golf any I don't remember just described and hope to see some great videos
