Note from a rigger; when you tie your reef line on the sail, go through the cringe and down to the boom. Tie onto the boom by going around it and then a bowline to the reef line. Then as the line pulls it tightens on the boom. It also pulls down and aft when you reef. Great videos. Keep it up ⛵️

Love that quote. Reminds me of another I've seen on more than a few motivational posters. Despite it's overuse, it is no less true: "A ship is safe in the harbor, but that is not what ships are made for."

Just came across your channel and totally agree with your statements on getting out and living life. I live in the D.C. area and was thrilled to see you sail past areas i am familiar with in Virginia, and cant wait to get out of the rat race myself soon. Subscribed and looking forward to the adventure.

Hi Josh, glad to see that you found some time to upload a new video. I hope that by now you're much further along and enjoying warm breezes! I owned a day sailor several years ago, but I never grow tired of seeing a determined sailor come up with ingenious solutions to challenges. Had to sell my boat as I'm a little too old (70+) to pursue an adventure such as yours, so for now I (we?) are living vicariously through yours. Thanks for sharing your adventure and your insights.

Josh just completed the same run on a Southerly110 to Merritt Island. Started Feb 27th in Annapolis in 32 F and finished in Fl in 85F yesterday. Left boat in Beaufort for 1 week and in Charleston for 2 weeks. Never felt so cold for so long especially Annapolis to Norfolk in 22 hrs straight thru. Did Charleston to Amelia Island on the outside and ran into a pea soup fog. Thank goodness for AIS and radar....... loved the icw especially SC run. Keep up the good work.

Get JB Weld. Inexpensive, and there is almost nothing it can not "weld" together above or below water. It even repairs engine block and cylinder head cracks. On plastic fittings it cures as hard as steel.
