not a negative, as in the rules "If you shoot for a takedown and in less than 3 secs you go to turtle position breaking the attack, you will be penalized with a minus." good luck on the next one buddy proud of you
@santiagobracho59647 ай бұрын
If you watch Mo Jasim's rules seminar on KZbin he explains that the turtled opponent needs to actively drive forward. There needs to be an attempt to finish the takedown otherwise you could still be subject to a penalty. Still it's always gonna be subjective. Josh had such an impressive showing, no question about that. In 2 years time you'll be there will all the greats.

@@santiagobracho5964 stupid cause if you look at Gordon against buchecha, hes not actively driving forward at all, looks more like this

I’m impressed with the way you’re still able to implement your game at this high level. We have a similar game, so to see you doing this well in trials is super encouraging to me! I think your wrestling was competent enough to win that last match, you just needed to be more confident in it. I’d check out Nicky Ryan’s wrestle up series if you haven’t already, it’s absolute fire.

Great performance overall. One small thing which will help you, when the 10p black belt double legged you, you extended one arm towards the mat on your way down. Try to avoid that habit in the future, it can lead to bad wrist, elbow, or shoulder injuries. Good ukemi protects you joints as well as distributing the impact in order to minimize damage. Try to keep your arm tight to your chest when you are on your way down, and extend it out only once your shoulder has made contact with the mat.

Great job Josh! It's astounding watching your progress over the years! The match against the Black was pretty even. Black was slightly better than you in wresting. And good idea using each tournament and rules to your advantage including "turtle" which I thought you would lose points if used too long?

Great matches! Seems like there were some opportunities for your opponent to use the Roger Gracie hook on you while in turtle. Maybe they tried and I didn’t see it. In any event fun to watch.

try sambo or judo. I've been doubling legs for 2 years and after continious losses because of that decided to learn these judo tricks. I heavily recommend that.
@0fficer_friendly7 ай бұрын
so ur saying judo is more effective than wrestling? and how did double legs make u lose?
@AndyKingCool7 ай бұрын
@@0fficer_friendly I think it's because when you go for a wrestling takedown, you're main objective is to take them to the ground, but in judo, while the objective is to take them down, you have more control over them
