I wish Chuck had lived long enough to learn that the church received the Holy Spirit not on the first day of Pentecost, but at the "fullness" of Pentecost, which was 49 days later, when the last day of Pentecost overlaps the first day, or Firstfruits, of New Wine. That's why Peter dismisses the charge of drunkenness, because no one could taste their new wine until their offering was made at the altar in the Temple at the 6th hour (noon). Thus, the church received the Spirit on that day in mid-July when both wheat and new wine were offered, a "type" of communion. Which makes one wonder what the Firstfruits of Pentecost means to the church...
