I am about to take off on a plane so I can't watch the whole video, but do I understand correctly that you swapped the motors yourself and you only did one flight on each motor, giving you a 50/50 chance to get it right by chance. Not trying to hassle you but this doesn't prove anything 😑 You need to do at least 10 or 15 tests. There needs to be a random chance of which motor is selected each test. So sometimes it is the same motor twice in a row and you don't know. Somebody other than you needs to set up the test whole you are isolated.

No, you must have not watched the video at all. I did exactly what you said. That's Carter changing the motors and me in the background with goggles on my head listening to music. I think you need to actually watch the video and see that I had no way in knowing but what was seen in my goggles. This proves my exact point. That I can tell the difference between the two. Why you have me follow these parameters and then deny that it "proves nothing" really disappoints me. I am here to bring you real world reviews and help the community with selecting a product that fits them. Everything is designed with a purpose. It's a comparison of milk chocolate and dark chocolate. To you it might be just chocolate but to me there is a distinct taste of innovation and my reviews might help you decide on what you desire to fit your own taste. Hope you actually give me a fair review and watch the whole video before you make a judgment yourself as I would do watching yours.

Just my two cents, but I can also easily tell the difference between two sets of motors that I know well. I think by and large, Bardwell's statement is true, and so is your claim.🙃@@AtradiesInc

Great video good job 👏 very interesting but really appreciate you doing the test . Can’t wait to see more tests on differences in motors I love this content and your channel !

Measure the actual KV on the motors please… I design the motors we use in FPV, and most of the time marketing will put a garbage number on the motor. KV is one of the easiest things to notice in flight. But I DO agree with you, motors are easy to tell apart a lot of the time. My test pilots pick out minor differences with ease; magnets, rings, air gap, bell weight, 0.2mm stator differences, and so on. Even when I try to trick them 😜

This is great content and It’s great to see a challenge like this taken up. Testing should be double blind from an independent referee and with enough iteration to enable differences to be expressed though the data. 😊

🤔 Appreciate the vid man, and I think you did a good job here. I think it would've been a bit more compelling if you had done maybe 5 runs or so with your buddy sometimes switching the motors and sometimes leaving the same ones on and see if you consistently guess correctly. Not saying I don't believe you're capable, just that one guess with a 50% random chance isn't quite as compelling. Regardless, great job. 👍

Thank you for your support. Yes I would love to do that. I didn't want it to feel like a job to my buddy. Also need to have more of the same batteries. I have a big mix of batteries some very powerful and others long range.

No I totally agree with you. I notice a difference, and every video I've seen on the subject I can always guess when comparing footage.

Have you checked out the supernova motors? 😁 Any thoughts on those? I just got a set for my first drone build. Started with a f7v3 on speedybee master 5 v2 frame but couldn't get the stack to recognize receiver 🤯 2 different new receivers on 3 different uarts 🤯 so i ordered a f4v4. Still getting ready to hook that up. Think i killed f7. Tried to flash and no more lights or sounds. Can't even connect to it anymore. Bt (speedybee app) or usb (beta flight) ☹️ still thinking about that one but will probably just send it back. Awesome show man 😁 keep em coming

Yes I love the supernovas they are on a video I call it my cheat code drone. Had one problem they fixed it and have not had a problem since. I try my best to not flash unless I really really have too. Thats why I still have a Avata without remote ID. Receiver problems normally are fixed with a switch of the tx and rx wires oooorrrr try soldering it to the GPS uarts. I have had receivers seem bad and soldered them to GPS uarts and they come back to life for some reason IDK why. Hope to see you comment more I like to interact

Awesome video. You did it just like it was laid out. When you know you know. Ive been told that i shouldnt be able to notice latency when i switched protocols but i 100% could tell. Some people just know it and sense it. Just like how some musicians can hear thing differnet than others. Good video. Subbed

Tune needs to be changed for each motor test is an emphatic fail
@AtradiesInc

Not if his claim was true. SO you kinda just proved my point. Every motor is different and has to be tuned. YOu can not just throw motors on and say well they are the same.

Here's the problem with that you knew what kind of motors were bein used what your friend should have done was used different motors and you did not know this or set you up and got you to fly the same motor twice but you didn't know this you thought one of the two test were a different motor that way you mind is set to think your testing two different motor's and if you can tell that way i would believe that more this way of testing seems set up mice try tho.

I did exactly what he said and then after he said do it more times in a row. I plan to with different motors when it warms back up. The important point which is seen in all my motor test videos is there are major differences in same size same kv motors and it may not show on a test bench and it may actually be way different results on a test bench. These have to be flown multiple times to get a review thats honest and consistent with the real results. I would say if you are just someone who flies a couple times a month no you can't tell really. But if your addicted like me and fly everyday you wanna build the best. Sadly but true you can buy the best bench test drone items and end up with junk which is costly and could possibly make someone quit the hobby. This is where I step in and show real world testing out on the field. You see my exact experience in multiple videos. If you actually take my advice and trust my data rating 1-10 1 the worst and 10 the best your not gonna build some Chinese JUNK. You will have a nice drone and a great experience. Which is my goal. To inspire people to keep flying with good products so the hobby can grow. It can't grow with theories and bench testing without putting it in the air and proving those claims Multiple times in my opinion. I will continue to run the complete hell out of these products so my viewers know what to expect.
