Burnside might be the best songwriter to ever come out of NI. He not only deserves so much more recognition but his music deserves to be heard by so many more. Incredible talent.

Completely agree. I just came across this song and him today. It stopped me in my tracks and had me replaying it three times just taking it all in. For me, it’s the imagery at the beginning. Instantly captures me and starts a scene playing out in my head. Genuinely stunned at how good he is.

Top 3 song writers my ears have encountered in my 33 years of life. What a genius mind the way he hangs all the mundane with the ethereal.

Oh my man Joshua, I have been waiting for new music so long. I even commented on Rana the fortunate, when will some new songs come out. And man, this was worth the wait. The ending was splendid. Once again a banger. Huge admirer from India 🇮🇳

The following is a true story, if an unbelievable coincidence: so I've been a fan of JB for a good few years and a couple months ago I was listening to some unrelated music on my YT premium app when it recommended me this song, which I hadn't heard before as it was fairly new. I didn't have time to listen to it right away so I hit play so that next time I put my headphones in it would be there to remind me. The following day I had a doctor's appointment to discuss my deteriorating mental health problems, it was May 18th which also happened to be the same date my sister committed suicide one year prior, after a long battle with the same fucked up brain as me. Our family are from north Belfast. I walked through the park to my GP office as this song came on the morning of the 18th, and tears came to my eyes. On the way home I had to listen to this song again and struggled not to break down crying in the middle of the park. I couldn't believe how relevant it was to my situation, and how strange it was that I first heard this song at that specific time

I cried listening to these lines yesterday "My life's just something that's been happening to me Used to play for Cliftonville 'Til I wrecked my knee Started working for my uncle Started hanging 'round the bars You know I really thought That I'd be somewhere else by now Somewhere warmer, kinder Softer on the soul Like the mother's hand The honeycomb Skies of Pissarro Late afternoon in the meadow 1887 Well, they assured us all once That it could Only get better"
