When I first played this game on NES and on All Stars(SNES), I often wondered what happened to Bowser.

I was also curious when I played as a kid! Back when I didn't really read the story to these older games lol Hopefully Bowser wasn't running rampant in the Mushroom Kingdom during this time!

Alright! :D Congrats! I bet that felt good, it's been a great adventure in Let's Playing! ^_^ 'I'm not going to die once!' Famous last words. lol Lol, I love the 'sad Joshua noises part'. It sounds like I really enjoy it when you suffer, but don't worry, I'm not really that sadistic... >.> I like how you gave everyone a chance, but Peach really is the winner for this game. They had Peach be the one that ultimately beat Wart in the Super Mario Advance Choose Your Adventure Book, too. :) And that part where the key kept bouncing off of Peach's head was hilarious! XD I wonder how long you can possibly keep that going? And how much you could move while doing it? That might mean you could possibly do that all the way to the door without the Phanto chasing you, though it would probably take a lot longer. Lol, the multiple cuts! That part is pretty frustrating. :P Yeah, that mask boss probably caught a lot of people off guard. Wart is pretty well protected. A lot of things were different for Wart's castle, and I really like how the SNES made everything look at that point. :) At last, Wart! He is pretty tricky with how he's only vulnerable when his mouth is open. When I got to that point in the Advance version, there was some kind of glitch where the Veggie Machine wasn't even there for some reason! So I could never beat Wart on that file. :( I'm glad I finally got to beat him with my bro for the first time. :D Apparently veggies are deadly to Wart, maybe because he's only made up of vile, virus, nightmare germs and the healthiness of the veggies eventually destroys him? Eat your vegetables, kids! :) Good thing you didn't get too close to Wart when he was defeated, my bro and I found out he can still hurt you, even when he's going down, and that would have been frustrating on your last heart! Yay! You freed the good boyos! XD Yeah, Peach won best contributor, but like you said, that is weird. I thought you did beat Mouser with Toad, or at least you fought him for a while with him. So he's just there waving with a zero over his head like, 'Yeah! I was just along for the ride! The Princess doesn't pay me enough!' lol Ah, that ending. :') Great Let's Play, and it started out as a joke kind of test run! :D 'That was a nice dream... except for all the dying.' XD And yeah, Birdo and Ostro's names being switched was an error, you are right. I think it was like that in the NES and SNES versions, but they fixed it in the Advance version. But, since this is a port of the SNES, the mistake lives on for the Switch audience! That was indeed a blast, and I'm looking forward to the next Let's Play adventure! And yeah, my dad also stumbles over my online name, it's okay! XD Glad I could help with my tips! ^_^

Felt VERY good finally having fulfilled my quest! I was feeling good at that point, but then again I usually am if I haven't died yet in a game lol. No problem! Self deprecating humor is something I go for sometimes :) "Never punch down, punch up" I think they say. "Punching" yourself softly is always ok for a laugh, right? I love the accidental tie-ins you tell me I do with this series! Thanks for sharing those things! Peach definitely deserves spotlight from time to time, as all the well-written/made characters of Nintendo do! Or I guess all Nintendo characters in general because they are most always well made! Now I want to try to juggle the key to the door! >:D (No promises at this time though lol) Those Spark enemies are quite a pain lol Didn't help that I usually rushed through those sections (and most sections :P) Yeah I was really shocked to see that mask boss! Yes, SNES version looks very nice! Never played NES version so I'm a bit spoiled I suppose! Yeah, I watched a fan-made animation where Mario defeated Wart by throwing veggies in his mouth, but it was YEARS ago and figuring it out here really flooded memories back to me lol. True! If I had beaten this game and seen the ending maybe I would have eaten more vegetables as a kid! :P Wow, Wart taking you down while he is going down would really bring ya down! Glad that didn't happen :) YEEEESSS! FREEDOM! It'd be really cool if they made another game like this one. Not sure if Nintendo would do it a the risk of not making enough profit, but interacting with those Subcon creatures we rescued would be cool! Yes, Toad maybe gave credit of his victory to Peach? lol Such a good helper! Thank you! I totally forgot I said that "dream" and "dying" line! lol Very interesting how they kept that error from NES to SNES about the Birdo and Ostro names! Is this one of your favorite video games? I remember playing this video game on Super Nintendo with it being on Super Mario All Stars. I still have that video game system and also the first Nintendo game system. Nintendo's Virtual Boy was also fun to play.

I'd have to say at one point in time it was! I didn't play it much, honestly, but it was such a unique Mario game that I found it very fascinating, fun, and of course difficult lol. Yeah, I had Super Mario All-Stars too! Such a great collection of Mario games! It was very cool how they also changed the look of a game or two on there. I know that SMB3 had a more "polished"look with a bit of shading in the pixel art. I think my first Nintendo console was N64, and then shortly after the SNES. @@JoshuaPlays_96 You're welcome and you deserve more subscribers. Even though the Nintendo 64 console came out to the USA in 1996 when I was in the 6th grade. I got in in 1999 when I was in the 9th grade for a birthday present. I still have that video game system and wonder if it still works. I don't know if you are familiar with Nintendo's Virtual Boy. It came out in 1995 which I still have but it doesn't work anymore lol. Hope you and your family and everyone else has a Happy New Year. 😀

@@JoshuaPlays_96 Yes, the Nintendo's Virtual Boy is red. I only got 2 videos games for that game system. They were basically virtual reality games and I think all the video games of that system were black backgrounds and characters and things around it was made of red which look pretty neat. Thankfully, I found the music soundtracks of those video games on KZbin. I was born in 1984...the year that many people thought the world was going to be ruled by a world government lol. I still have the Sony Playstation 2 that I got when I was probably a Senior in high school. It doesn't work anymore ever since I made the mistake of pouring perhaps water on it. My favorite games of that were Jak and Daxter, Jak 2, Jak 3 and Jak X. The music of those soundtracks are still awesome.

@@Monkeyland03 It's fascinating that they endeavored to give players a virtual reality experience back then! I know ideas come before results, but the fact that they had the idea for virtual reality back then? I suppose it must have simply started with someone with a great, child-like imagination who was already used to "day dreaming" or something lol. I wish I had a PS2. The PS3 I have isn't backwards compatible with PS2 games either. I love the Jak games! Sly Cooper, Ratchet & Clank, Jak and Daxter are all great Sony games :D I wish they'd make a new Jak and Daxter game already! I enjoy the music for all three of those franchises. Some franchises, like the previously mentioned ones, have such great soundtracks!

Also there are voices for Mario Luigi toad peach birdo mouser triclyde Robo birdo fry guy clawgrip and wart boss of world 6-3 changed from triclyde to mouser and mecha birdo made a debute in world 3-3

@@salvatorepurello I saw they just added that to NSO for Switch! I was actually thinking of trying it out because I remembered some special stuff was in it! The voice thing is cool :) also the bigger characters and Mecha Birdo! Thanks for watching and sharing that info! I might not do an LP for that game for a long while, but I might try a different format with that specifically. Maybe listing things I like better in the Advance one. :)

This was the first time I had ever beaten the game and even fought Wart at all! It was quite a neat fight! I wish they'd bring Wart back too! I wonder if he will be in the Super Mario Bros movie at all... 🤔

@@kevindobson3701 It seems Bowser is always the main villain in the bigger Mario games, but the others, like the Paper Mario games, seem to branch out a bit. Besides ones that focus on Luigi or Toad etc, of course. I haven't played the Captain Toad games, but I could see them putting Wart in one of those!

@@JoshuaPlays_96 The original Super Mario 2 that was made in Japan was thought to be very difficult and one of the people in an American company called it undeserved punishment so what was done was they took the game Doki doki panic and put the Mario characters in and changed a few other things as well with the game. Then our version was introduced in Japan and it was called Super Mario USA. Later on Super Mario ALL Stars came out and added even more things to all these games. Super Mario Lost Levels was an updated version of the original Super Mario 2 in Japan.

Is there a Russian version of this game?

I think there is a way to copy the game from the cartridge and put it on your computer. If you are able to do that, then there is a website called rom hacking (not sure if it's safe, to be honest) and on that website there is a Russian Translation you can download (again, not sure if it's safe) and play the game in Russian! I Google "Is Super Mario Bros 2 Translated to Russian" and found it within the first three results.
