Hi Jen, this camping spot made me feel as though I was in a Flintstone movie. You need to learn about the amazing rocks and minerals and crystals you can find in these ancient areas. What a beautiful spot! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing. You were in my back yard. I’m up in the north desert area, about one hour away. It has been said that we need to sometimes see things a new from someone else, to appreciate the beauty around us. I love our wide open spaces surrounded by our majestic mountains. Our wonderful sunsets and sunrises. I sometimes forget how much of the stars we see at night out here. I’m usually reminded of the stars when family comes to visit. They are always at awe of them. I sat back and pondered this, when you were simply pointing out those rocks. Yes! They are pretty, aren’t they!?? ❤😊. Thanks for the gentle reminder.😊. Safe travels, take care and PACK THAT GARMIN………..cheers 😊😊😊 waving back.

The booms are from the military base in Twentynine Palms.
@donnaw13067 ай бұрын
Not sure if it is accurate, but it seems that the loud booms that you hear at Joshua Tree are from the Marines Corps Air Ground Combat Center. I am in the Midwest and live close to an active base and they can get loud and shake our entire house when they are training.

Yes, 29 Palms is the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Training Base, and it's also the second entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. My son is there now for his 2 week training. Love my Marine❤

Great video Jen! Reminder to pack your Garmin! Also, the mountains you had pointed out may have been Mount San Jacinto. You may want to look into a hike called "Cactus to Clouds" to summit that over 10k peak. It's a challenge that may be in your wheelhouse.

Joshua Tree looks beautiful. A lot of vanlifers I watch are very careful of not letting any moisture accumulate in their cars, I think because of the risk of damp and mold, so I'm interested if you used any kind of dehumidifiers in your car to be able to leave water in there for such a long time?

my mom loves telling a story from the early 90's of how we went to Montana / Wyoming and went to multiple events too early ...hilarious now but not then. LOL!! i wish we would give up the time change completely. i am thankful you are sharing, we gave up camping (similar to what you were speaking of on those young men, we found that there were lots of folks who do camped/hiked who didn't or should have been, didn't do their research or know how to survive (have water, have proper clothing, etc.) and it was a real hazard for us, so we don't do it any more. we have been doing Air BnB's lately. it works for now, never know what we might do in the future? never been to this area, would so miss those lush green trees. always so excited for you and your travels. do it all, feel comfortable in whatever you do, pray your knee that it will heal quickly. i always wonder how when you are at your run events in Disney and then i see you now, i know it is not up to date (present time, etc.) but you are speaking of your knee i wonder how you fit it all in when you might be in tip top shape knee wise or whatever injury. i recall you were speaking of REI shoes in the past, are those the ones that have a good sized toe box? curious. ( ;
@WithWonder7 ай бұрын
I think it makes sense that our travel needs/wants shift with us with time. How boring if we all remained the same all the time, right? Thanks for the well wishes on the knee - fortunately it was just a weird one time thing. And I do love my altra’s but this specific model shredded my toes so I returned them. REI has a great policy about that. Generally I love Altra’s “original fit” models which have a wider toe box. Hope this helps! 👟

Beautiful views and adventures,Jen. I'm sure it was delicious but, the Artichoke lemon dip is not hummus. In Arabic, “hummus” translates directly to “chickpeas” and this legume is the condiment’s main ingredient.
@WithWonder7 ай бұрын
Interesting - but the man who sold it to me and made it called it hummus and it was indeed mainly chickpeas. The artichoke and lemon were just added bonuses 😊
