Great video Jason. My family has been going there for my entire life. I've never been to the spots you checked out. We always went to Indian cove. My late grandpa was born in 29 palms and when he died we as a family decided to take his ashes to Indian cove. Each of us got a small amount of ashes to do with as we please. Some of buried. Some of us let dust to the wind. All I know is Joshua tree and Indian cove are very special to me. Thx for taking us along.... Happy trails

Looks like a fun time as usual!! Thanks for posting this lovely place. Also, I wonder if you went the weekend of the 9th; if so, it is the weekend I hiked East Ord Mountain, also in the Mojave Desert (6,168') near Lucerne Valley and next to Johnson Valley OHV. I wonder if you are familiar with any of that area. There is plenty of space for awesome cross-country scrambling and peak climbing, and solitude, and since I went on a Saturday I saw not one soul in the mountains! It is fun, and the views from the ridges and peaks are spectacular. I could even see Sugarloaf Mountain in the San Bernardinos from East Ord!! I highly suggest it. You can get it off Camp Rock Rd from 247 near mile 40. Just watch out for a rogue bull wandering in the area!
