I use true d works just fine. I only have issues indoors, in that case i use my clearview groundstation. From my experience the rapidfire doest come close to groundstation. However i would have prolly bought the rapidfire instead of true d if it had been out already. Im not going to waste the money now.

Upgrade worked like a charm and as bonus I made a simple splash screen in Microsoft Paint. Now I see Swampdog FPV when I power up goggles. Sigh, I am such a geek to get excited by a little thing like that....

Just ordered a set of HDOs (upgrading from Commanders, which I still love) from GetFPV, got the Combo deal, when it gets here, I'll be upgrading the firmware as per JB!. I also own a Clearview Receiver (NOT module) and will be comparing. We'll see how it stacks up. It will be a lot more convenient to use the RapidfFire module, so my hopes are high! Thanks for the useful video, I'll be using in when my new toys arrive....

Hey so I've been searching an answer to this question and haven't found one yet, are any antennas better than the TBS Triumph for long range (disregarding weight)? I've been using cheap eachine goggles (ev800) with a triumph for the last 2 years (and on tx: unify pro and a tramp) and have had great reception at 1.5km+ There must be something better now? Again disregarding weight. Thanks Joshua, your guides are the best! Finally setup gps rescue with your video, cant wait! Have some huge lakes I'm going to love ripping! Happy flying!

A properly made Pagoda is one of the best omnis for reception. Its main weakness is durability and it's very sensitive to being manufactured even slightly correctly.

Bardwell, I need your advice. So today I wanted to fly my drone just like every other day, but as I plugged in the battery and gave the drone to my friend to get ready to fly an ESC suddenly started smoking. After I unplugged it, I saw that two motor leads where shorted (due to my poor soldering skills...(the joit came loose)). Back at home, I resolder the motor leads correctly to the ESC and plugg in the battery, nothing, I go into my Betaflight to try if the motor will turn and surely it did. My question now is if you had a simmilar expierience and if so how it turned out, cause I wont be happy if my kwad suddenly drops out of the sky. LG Niklas ~Austria

For us using the ribbon cable on older goggles (HD2), reckon you can do this without fully removing the module from the goggles? That ribbon cable was a bit of a pain to install... Typing this from work so I'm not sure the micro-USB is even reachable while they're in the module bay.

Yes, or any other traditional diversity receiver. However rapidfire sensitivity is much better and you should still get superior results.

I find it hard to believe it's just coincidence, but every since I upgraded my firmware, I've had issues. A lot of the time when I turn my Goggles on, I'll get a black screen. I'm on the correct band and channel and it may be my dominator v3's, and I've always been able to play with it and get my video image, but it's really annoying. Not sure what the issue is. I don't have low power, I'm on correct vtx setting, never had issue before update?????

My module shows it is working when I plug it into my HDOs after the update but my goggle screens are black. A red screen apears for a split second after I plug in the battery and then it is black. WTF happened

I have the drivers installed from rapidfire updater. The newest updater installed.. the updater never gets a com port with plugging in module with joystick depressed. Tried 5 diff cables no difference. I can hear it chiming that a usb device is plugged in and unplugged when i unplug module

hi Joshua, it's been a while since this video was posted. now there is a firmware issue from my point of view. after upgrading my module to fw 1.3.2 I cannot calibrate both modules to 100% rssi. the upper module gets 100% rssi but the lower module can't get any higher than 80% rssi. that's really frustrating after 50+ times calibrating... do you cam across that issue? or do you have an idea how to downgrade to fw 1.2.9? IRC removed all older firmwares from the updater program so I stuck with 1.3.2 and this issue now... even the 1.3.3 beta does not help. as you are some sort of "FPV guru" I thought asking you could be some option... thanks in advance & always happy flying. greetings from germany

The calibration just measures the noise floor of each receiver in order to make the diversity algorithm more effective. I don't think that it affects the measured RSSI. If you swap the antennas, does the low-RSSI antenna change? Maybe you have a bad antenna?

The only time I had this rolling black screens was when I recorded on the DVR to show, that I don't have it 🤪 However, it seems to be fixed now, also on the Mobula7. I've installed the 1.2.2, it does not have the Audio-option yet.

It's a good idea to calibrate again in my opinion. ImmersionRC started remembering the calibration values in some firmware but I don't remember the exact version.

This is a dumb question but have you tried changing the brightness/contrast setting on your goggles? Many people don't realize this is possible. It's the left hand joystick up/down for bright and left/right for contrast.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the modes? Like mode one is the fuse the 2 antennas together and legacy is legacy like any other diversity. Whats mode 2?! Why didnt they just delete mode one and call mode 2 the new mode 1 or what am I missing? Thanks!

Mode 1 is sync reconstruction and frame combining. Mode 2 is only frame recombining.

I have all my cams set to pal.. when i fly mode 1 its dark but flyable on bright days... mode 2 is perfect. If i change my cams to ntsc.. will mode 1 be better? Seems mode 1 has less break up then mode 2. So pal or ntsc make a difference?

There is literally no difference in performance between LH and RH. However if all your friends fly RH you will get slightly less interference if you use LH. But you will also not be able to spectate their feed as effectively.

Can I use LHCP patch antenna with RHCP Cloverleaf antenna on my furious fpv true d module ? Or should they both be LHCP or RHCP ? What combo will give my the best reception ? On the quad I am using RHCP Cloverleaf antenna. Can any fellow FPV peeps help me out ? I'm still new at all this. Thanks.

Both antennas should be LH or RH. Mixing them will severely reduce range.

ImmersionRC why no channel search function? Okay, so you got a new build with a new VTX. Plug it up and you got to sit there and skip thru channels to figure where the video is. 2nd situation,, you at a race and want to check out another racer or another pilot flying. and hell NO I don't know what channel they flying on,,, But what would be easy is to have a search function that'll pick up the multiple channels in the area that would allow you to lock in on another pilots video with out flipping thru every channel on every band.
