Ooooh always those reminders about the affiliate links in the description. 2 years later the MKII comes out, I saved and picked up the MKI HALL edition. I'm moving up from a Jumper T-Lite v2, which I still use for inside whooping and is in a completely different range. With the saved money I used some to get an ELRS module. Super happy, this info helped me pull the trigger after also looking at the MKII vids to see the difference. Always happy to watch old and new JB vids when I'm looking for an honest and good review. Cheers!

I started with the FPV hobby back on January, learning to fly with the Taranis X9 Lite and the Lift Off simulator races (so it is funny to see this house as a course map), and a couple months later (amid all that's happening) I got my first quad for training yesterday! I got a Mobula 6 with the FatShark Recon V3. I went to the park today and I was actually able to fly it around and go with the trees and all. It was fun to see other people stopping by to watch. Just wanted to say thanks for your channel, learning a lot from it. (Also I'm from GA, if there are any events nearby I'd really like to check them out).

My Jumper T16 has started developing ribbon cable problems. I was able to repair most of them, but the RS slider connector broke while I was trying to fix it. I don't NEED the sliders in my current RC habit, but I may want it back another day, so I'm putting my finger on the pulse of the market by watching these reviews in case I decide it's time to upgrade. That said, I JUST got to the part where Jumper is offering upgraded cables, and I'm probably going to spring for that. I also will want to order a new connector/mux board because I broke that connector, but hey, I admit that that one's my fault, and I'll pay for the repair.

Hi Joshua, thanks for the review! I received my radio on Tuesday and haven’t had any problems yet. However, I have see some people complaining that the digitiser on the touch screen leaves a weird square pattern. I don’t know how they’re radios have come or if you’ve run into the same problem, but I found that there’s a very stiff screen protector that is actually tucked around the edges of the display. I removed that and the screen is perfect now with no touch sensitivity lost (I checked in the calibrator sections).

The left and right sliders are a little loose but unless you bump one.. it's not going anywhere and the center detent ( along with the ON Screen display VERY clearly show the position of each) I did NOT expect to get the Touch screen functionality in the display but it IS there in the $120 Banggood version I got with the Hall Effect gimbals.. I just wish there was a place like P400 and P401 inside to to add-in the SJ and SJ switches I added into my Q-7XS radios cause I really like having momentary push buttons under the index finger to trigger voice announcements of ( I have 6 diggerent ) telemetery parameters on demand .. I'm going to update both of these older Q-7S radios to 2.3.7 1st then transfer their D16 and ASSAN models to the Radiomaster and set up the TX16S for wireless training .. Really hoping is goes smoothly and am looking forward to more videos on the TX16 soonest.. Thanks Again.. JimS

I’ve got mine on preorder and looking forward to getting it in my hands. Yes the jumper t18 might be better again, but it’s also more expensive than the radiomaster tx16s, which is important to me, as I’m not exactly rich lol. I’m sure that I’m going to be happy with my purchase and if it does need one of those minor glitches repaired, I’m willing to accept that for the otherwise great quality that this brings to the table. Also with the new t18, how do you fit an aerial that will be compatible with the r9 setup, do you have to drill another hole in the body of the case, and do you actually have a place to fit the connection to the r9 antenna.

I'm getting ready to dust off my quadcopter gear and fly fpv again after many years. Looks like most racers are using Five33 frames, HDZero video/goggles, and systems that can handle 6S lipos. Do I need to upgrade my Taranis X9D radio to be compatible with these?
4 жыл бұрын
The charge was slow because of the way balancers work. The battery is charged first without any balancing until one of the cells reaches 4.2 volts then that cell is slowly discharged by the balancer for a while, then the whole pack is charged again until the cell is 4.2 again. And that cycle is repeated until the whole pack is charged. So by putting one charged and one discharged cell you created the worst case scenario. In fact if you used your regular lipo charged I bet it would take equally as long, unless you bumped up the current way up of course. Anyways. I preordered the radiomaster and I'm getting rid of my old x9d ;)

My T16's not dead yet, just this week I upgraded it to have the internal multi module (that was fun, learning that I had to re-flash OpenTX to make it work...) and the carbon fibre-look faceplate which makes it's appearance so much nicer. I opted not to install the USB charging board since IMHO it's not good enough, if one cell somehow gets discharged more than the other, the charger will over-charge the other cell, *it* *does* *not* *balance* *charge* *them* *properly* . Going to install an MT30 socket on it (it's a 3-pin XT30) and make a custom cable so I can charge the cells with my iSDT Q6 multiple times faster than USB.
@theUAPwhisperer4 жыл бұрын
Can I follow you on that? I'd like to mod my radio too to make it as efficient as possible given its current shell body.
@licensetodrive99304 жыл бұрын
@Tony Dean Sure thing, I ordered the MT30 connector sets 4 days ago, no international posting so they should arrive very soon. The trickiest part will be deciding where to mount the MT30 socket, the obvious place is in the back of the transmitter but that means it'll be tethered to the battery connector board.

@@JoshuaBardwell BTW, maybe it would be redundant, but the price would also seem to beg comparison to the T12. When it was just the T16 hall vs T12 hall, I went for the T12. It seemed like it did almost everything the T16 does, but in a more compact form factor. I am looking at getting a 2nd radio so my daughter can fly with me, and I am wondering about getting an even cheaper second radio (like an i6) or to get a TX16S or something else.

I’ve been asking you a few questions I have this transmitter. I finally got it. Binded to my drone I also got my FPV goggles binded to my drone now I don’t understand how to get the drone to start. I am completely new to this. Can you refer me to a video?

You say, "I've been asking you questions," but this is the first comment that I remember seeing from you. If you have specific questions, it's better to email me jb@joshuabardwell.com since I don't see all comments left on my channel. I guess the next thing to do is set up your aux modes. Here's how to set them up: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJOwlaxolrOcsLM

Hi, I am using deviation on devo7e at the moment, do you think I should upgrade to Opentx on T12 pro or TX16S, which will be a good value for money tx to upgrade to if I do, i do not have extremely big hands and am not using the pinching method to control the tx, thanks

My pre-order just shipped. I think the touchscreen is going to be a killer feature that will lead to onboard maps.

I've been out of the hobby for 3 years now. I gave my 50 models to the local university, inc all my parts. However, the interest in this hobby is on my horizon (and rekindled), I wish to start over with the purchase the TX16S. One step at a time! I have forgotten much of what I learned however, the many frustrations I encountered and, knew all so well, back then, are still prevalent in the hobby today (and doing well, I see). I just don't want to struggle so much, this time. Case in point: In your buyers guide, and the TX16S, you specify "touch-screen capability is not active until upgraded with OpenTX version 2.4"! Would you help by pointing me to where I find that OPENTX 2.4, please? Thanks in advance for your help/guidance, Steve G

Mine arrived today, you can't compare it to Futaba Graupner or Jeti but I like it, better than most FrSky and is better than a DX6, comparable to a DX9. And there is CF at an R9 price.

The DX9 is way better quality build, I have both. Saying that it's a nice radio with a large colour screen etc

I’ve been stuck with a qx7 for the last 3-4 years and looking to upgrade soon but still not sure what radio I want. Linda want a tango 2 since I’m in the middle of switching all of my rigs to crossfire. But at the same time I have the micro tx and could always put it in the radio master.

Good afternoon. I'm looking to buy the radio, but I can't find the value of the power in mw 2.4ghz of the original module of the T16 Pro V2. Can you help me?

I'm brand new to hobby. I ordered a tiny hawk 2 RTF bundle to get started but want to get a better radio and one that I can use for flight simulators. Can you recommend a middle of the road radio that I can grow into? I want something that will last a while and I will probably eventually get the DJI goggles so I'll want something I can use with them. Also, can you recommend best US store to get stuff from? I ordered the tiny hawk from Pyrodrone because they seemed to be the only place that had them in stock.
