It’s actually quite impressive to see a company understand the demographic they’re catering to. This seems very good for beginners and at a reasonable price point to grab everything you need to get started. I’m only half way through the video but this seems like something I’d actually get my kids

Not only Josh but someone at Hisingy has paid attention to kids playing video games or with an RC car. ITs always the first thing they do. Feel out the control limits regardless of what happens. Think about the first time you hopped on a dirtbike or in a car, you wanted to feel the limit of that gas pedal and brake pedal.

@nfnworldpeace1992 Жыл бұрын
@@ddegn this is so true! average toy drones either have crappy wifi fpv so everything is slow this thing actually gives fpv to a kid without the "mom my whoop exploded" and heck the minimum amount of flight time is a badge for future pilots to actually tell parents "yo im serious gimme better drone i got 100 hours of flighttime and its still flying and now i want to go outside" might actually scoop one of these up in the future since that altitude hold looks kinda fun

@GetFPV Жыл бұрын
@@fpv-teacher Thanks for your feedback. The quality on this kit is really high, they did not cut corners, so the price seems to match. The goggles alone are over $230 if you were to get a similar set from Fat Shark. The biggest factor we think is the really impressive app that goes along with this kit, which makes it so beginner friendly. We're excited to see all the new people a product like this can help bring into the FPV hobby.
@fpv-teacher Жыл бұрын
@@GetFPV the problem I see is that you cannot grow with this set. If you want to continue Fpv you have to invest again into goggles and a decent controller and a better quad. Maybe you could sell the set but how much would you get for it after some time. I recommend beginners to buy a kit that they can grow with and this will save more money in the long term doing the hobby. Of course the app is probably the part where they need to recover the costs from investment. We will see and follow how the product will do on the market. Here in Europe we probably won't even see this in the shops so soon or at all.

@diegofneira Жыл бұрын
@@airadaimagery692 The firmware is really well created... quite friendly... and the whole concept of it like if it was a videogame with rewards and stuff... the PID tuning is stupidly easy even though you really dont know what you are doing but you can tune it according to your needs and what you want. For me the only issue is that the googles are analog... Im too used to digital... but if I had a kid, I would not hesitate. Now, there are others in the market for a third of the price but this company being small at the moment makes me think that they would be more careful with updates and improvements as what they are looking for is to grow with quality and targeting young people or people with zero experience.

I think it’s a great way to start fpv for children. Unlike most hobby quadcopters that requires adult supervision, this can be put in the hands of a 5 to 12 years old child and they’ll be able to learn by themselves and have fun. Usually children don’t like to have an adult constantly telling them what to do. With this they can learn by themselves, make mistakes and start over.

He had a blast and is sleeping with the drone now. :) The only thing not great so far has been the face foam with the velcro on the thorny side hurting his face. need to figure that out quick. I was able to use my hdzero goggles and analog module to be fpv with him while he flew for the first time. we also flew together with him on the stargazer and me on a mob6 - so much fun!

4:00 - well, holy cow, there it is! I wish I would have known all this on June 1 when I made my first foray into FPV! I'll try to keep this short - I'm Paul, I'm a total noob FPV-er, and I have NOT been having 'fun' thus far - on June 1, bought my first beginner kit - BETAFPV Cetus X - had flight sims ready to learn on, but the included radio in my kit was a NIGHTMARE getting detected by my PC. When I finally 'fixed' that, I had no communication with the quad itself! EIGHT DAYS over the course of communicating with my RETAILER by messages, We finally got BOTH problems solved (complete Betaflight CLI re-writes) Ready for a first SIMPLE, no-trick flight, just the basic movements outside - up, up she goes - wait come back, where ya going STOOOP! - the Cetus X quad is gone forever. I looked 2 full days in daylight for it, I saw it come down what could have been a MILE or 2 from my location. It ain't getting found. :/ Next paycheck comes in, and I get a heavier quad which surely should be harder to lose! GEPRC Cinebot 30 ELRC Nubula 6S. Bound successfully to the radio that was part of the Cetus X kit (BETAFPV LiteRadio 3). In the city, in my friend's backyard, I decided to carefully get this Cinebot flying low again, just in the yard and slowly. Big heavy 6S 1100mah battery strapped in tight. Arm, push up geeennntly on the left stick ... WHOOSH up it ZIPS, NOT straight up, I panic, bring stick back down, DOWN she flashes, SMASHES hard on to the roof of the neighbor's garage, bounces on to my friend's garage roof, then falls to an inaccessible area between the two garages. I was going to use a stepladder to get up over the fence and retrieve it, but my friend says "Just try to fly it out". That actually worked - I thought. I bumped a few times up its way up trying to escape the enclosed area. All of a sudden it WHOOSHES to the right, I notice THICK WHITE SMOKE suddenly coming from it, it SMASHES at a very high speed in to my friends fence on the other side of the yard, still excessive white smoke, I run full speed up to it, disconnect the already dislodged 6S battery - which is INSANELY hot and swelling.I leave it on the cement block sidewalk and stand far away from it, fearing a LiPo explosion. The part of the quad that was smoking? Battery strap. A hole burned right through it. I removed it, and was able to see a lot of the F7 flight controller board under the alloy frame. It had what burned off the strap COOKED right on to it. The battery sitting on the cement, CONTINUED to swell and the temperature of it rose for awhile ... but settled down about 45 minutes later. I had it safely disposed of. Imagine a city with about a million population, where this happened (Winnipeg), had NOT ONE store specializing in FPV drone hobbyists gear, drones or accessories,... my safest bet the following day, was 'Eliminator RC' who sold me a cheap 4S battery and plug adapter. Ultimately, I just wanted to test with this battery, if the Cinebot 30 would light up when connected. It didn't - in fact, only being plugged in not even five seconds, I saw brief smoke from the 'cooked-on' guck on the FC just briefly - but THAT 4S BRAND-NEW BATTERY - GOT SUDDENLY REALLY HOT AND SWELLED UP LIKE ITS PREDECESSOR THE DAY BEFORE!! So I threw that one away too, and felt very discouraged for the following 3 days - at how I invested $1600 CDN in to TWO purchases, NEITHER one I could even fly ultimately EVEN ONCE. NO ONE MENTIONED THE LUCK FACTOR HERE. I thought, like I said, this was supposed to BE FUN?!?! My first plan to get into this, was buying the DJI AVATA Pro Kit. I should have STUCK with that plan, and most DEFINTELY will, come my next paycheck. ... Sorry... yes it DID get long here (but I had lots to say, and I'm glad I got it out. If you're reading this still - thanks so much for reading and taking in, my "FIRST TIME Getting In To FPV book, Chapter One: How NOT to start in FPV" The Cinebot's getting fixed, and I still have my AMAZING DJI Air 2S - over a year and NOT ONE CRASH. Actually, I really like the Nasgul Evoques - one of those will be after the AVATA kit purchase. I'm NOT quitting something that looks like so much fun!!!! The answer is in the settings on the radio sticks!!!!

Im still playing with nano drones (Ive got a SkyRocket Dash and a 4DRC Pocket Elf (4DV2)) as well as a Snaptain S5C Pro and a Propel Star Wars X1 Advanced (Darth Vaders)) TIE fighter drone. The Propel drone (I'll just call it the X1 or TIE from here on) used to have a app that had a virtual tutorial that you used in alternate reality to get the muscle memory with the controller without you taking the chance of really screwing up the X1. The Propel controllers for the Star Wars collection (I dont think they did anything else, I dont know the Propel web site now is just a review site for the Star Wars drones rather than a website that would be a frontage for a business for the drones.) has a neat feature; you can turn off 'Repulsar Mode', which turns off the altitude hold and locks the control stick to self center, so that you can eventually work your way up to flying with a actual RC controller. It has a lanyard attachment nub and with a little bit of 'repurposing', I bet I could even make a set of 'goggles'...oh wait no camera so no matter how much I tinker I cant make phone goggles. But it was almost possible. Sadly Propel went under the app is no longer available in the apple store so I cant install it on my iPhone(2nd Gen SE) and I understand you have to use a VPN to side load it from a UK based android store. And while my experience with quads is minimal of the 4 drones I have the Propels controller is closer to a actual RC flight controller (like a Futaba, my best friends brother flys Balsa RC Planes so I do have some exposure to the real RC controllers). (Oh and Addendum here I did a little looking and Propel did have other drones than the Star Wars series which is where I found out I can trim the X1 without the App (which is the only way the instruction/owners manual tells you to do so. Woohoo! no more fighting against that damn right drift!)

such things appear on the market because beta, inav, emu and ardupilot don't have a reference assembly. Just a specified drone with a specified FC, ESC and motors so everyone will have the same pids and filters. Also there is no problem to make pid autotuning but the coders are pretty lassy for it or want to have a small group of people who really know how to tune a drone. I understood it only after a year of flying for 5 inch

The robustness of the whole package, I feel, makes the price point worth it compared to other RTF "beginner" quads. ESPECIALLY if the intended pilot is extremely inexperienced (age isn't really a factor if you ask me)
@eldenchunugus Жыл бұрын
My only concerns with this are, 1: the price (You can put together a full 5" setup together for that price) 2: the lack of ability to bypass the training wheels and lack of acro mode. Regarding the first reason, yes, I know that this demographic is not going to be looking to buy a Nazgul 5 as their first quad, but the 400 price is still eye-watering for a toy that will eventually be pushed aside for a more serious drone, where you will need to buy a new transmitter, new goggles, and new everything due to everything in this kit being proprietary. It would have been nice if the quad was setup through the app out of the box, but you would have the option to flash a normal build of beta flight to it later once you have more experience.
