You can right click and move objects to front or back or use ctrl+alt+[ (the bracket keys)

Not with Google Drawings. You will need something like Figma, Photopea, or Gravit. I hope Google Drawings adds a real pen tool and boolean functions in the near future.

Try using ctr+shift and the up and down arrows to move objects forward or backward.

What would you suggest for creating a business card with this logo now? I usually teach using photoshop and indesign, but for distance learning from home, we do not access to adobe. This tutorial was great, I thank you for sharing. I am wondering if I should have them create their business card right in google drawings after their logo is complete.

Thank you for the comment. I might suggest Google slides for business cards because you can you use multiple slides like multiple Pages or front and back and design it all in one document. Google Slides has all the same shaped building features as drawings as well.

You could do it, but this might not be the best platform for that kind of task. You could create each letter as word art and arrange and rotate them manually to get the layout you want. Check out my Gravit videos for more advanced features for making logos.
