ONLY if you hyperfocus on competitive. Casual OCG is pretty much very alive. And fyi it's quite common for OCG players to bring multiple decks during locals, a meta deck and a casual for-fun deck, and players switch to their for-fun decks after playing meta. This is the reason why nobody gets burned out by completely focusing on top meta all the time.

The OCG banlist is in the 4th Sunday of September, we're just waiting for it to drop. Considering they've hit Snake-Eyes three times now, it's not unlikely that the September announcement will completely shut it down, along with hitting Tenpai more. Also, we don't complain that much about the top meta because even if we get rekt by the top meta decks, we can just pull out our casual for-fun decks after and play with them while waiting for the next game.

I am fine with 1 card combos as long as there is a xeno lock. Unfortunately, Snake-Eyes, Diabellstar, and Fiendsmith do not have that restriction, so these archetypes will just abuse the next generic card and lil jimmy will cry because his pet deck got hit with a stray bullet (ban).

Just put a lot of these decks from Crossover Breakers together last weekend and Malice was a bit expensive for an OCG deck. White Rabbit is around 1500 yen or $10 each, Dormouse 1200 or yen $8 and field spell 1300 yen or $9 on release. Lots of the other cards are fairly cheap, but Seventh Tachyon that's popular in Ryzeal decks now was as high as 3500 yen or $24. Which is very high for an OCG card. Cards like link decoder also shot up to around 2500 yen or $17 this week. I bought mine the week before for only 1200 yen or $8.

Raizeol will make waves. Not only does Aggregator negate Flamberge in a similar way as Impermanence(Believe me its the exact same wording.) and stop their recursion in the process but they also have Exciton Knight, Steelswarm Roach, Abyss Dweller, Bagooska, Rafflesia, Time Thief Redoer(Which you can rig with Raizeol Hole.), Zeus, Laplacian and a whole ton of other cards. They have some of the most powerful and broken generic rank 4s of all time in addition to ways to play around Skill Drain and Dark Ruler No more so I don't think its cope to think that this is the best non-Shifter deck to have a realistic chance at beating Snake-Eyes that anyone has had in a while. Its by no means so broken that it isn't ok to exist and has plenty of counters but because Snake-Eyes can be stopped by card destruction if hit hard enough Raizeol with all of the cards in its arsenal has a favorable match up going 2nd and a even more favorable match up going first especially since the Toy Box engine let's you play around hand traps even better. After negating Flamberge with Aggregator you can bait their hand traps and interruptions, use Dark Ruler, make Exciton Knight and then finish them off. Raizeol can be stopped with cards like Evenly Matched, D. Barrier, Nibiru+ Cosmic Cyclone and/or Veiler, and cards like Dark Ruler that make it possible to out a opponents board with our board and negating Duo Drive can Hurt them a lot.

On the topic of deck building packs hitting a proper tier'd status, Valiant Smashers is 2/3 on its archtypes that have hit that level. Centurion and Memento are both powerful decks, considering they can still get consistent tops in an environment with Snake-Eyes and Tenpai. Valmonica on the other head, well, we gotta wait a bit more for that I'd say.

Not mad, just bored because it has been the same for a while. Getting the best deck is not an issue in the OCG because of the accessibility. You only hear the outcry in West/TCG because of the printing practice and 2nd market pricing. I know because I have seen and experienced the OCG with my own eyes. Wanted sinful in the tcg at its height was about $100. While it is just about $1.75, the OCG. Again, I know because I bought one myself, in person in an OTS.

We just play other games in the mean time. Either other TCG, toys like Beyblade, Gacha Games, or competitive games like Apex, DOTA 2, and LoL. There is also a problem with multiple new must-have staples are expensive, like Fuwaross, Impulse, Seventh Tachyon, etc.

Playing top meta sure is frustrating, but we can always whip out our for-fun decks after and play with those while waiting for the next game, so there isn't really any point in complaining. Do TCG players really only have a single deck they carry in locals? In the OCG most players usually carry the best deck they have, and one or more for-fun decks to play in between.

I'm OCG and most of us Don't Really mind that much here in the Philippines. But we do get bored with the Meta so we usually just switch decks and play rogue tier even in Local Tournament since we play to have FUN

@@Kenneth_Agapito EXACTLY. I don't think TCG players realize this, but OCG players bring multiple decks during locals and switch up after games. From my observation, TCG players only build a single hypercompetitive-focused deck they bring to locals, and their constant focus on being competitive results in them getting burned out really fast.
