josh is 100% right about this. Every time it's a maxx c dropped by the turn 1 player after they set up board, it's usually a waste of time because you're basically racing against an opponent with a massive lead who then drops a large unavoidable spike strip behind them to prevent you from catching up ever.

He went overboard and everybody hated it. Sure, everybody wants floodgates gone. But going for the board nukes that deal with set 5 pass monkeys and especially Apollousa and IP, wich are the only things you can reliably can sit on to survive turn 2 against many decks was overkill.

The Kuchen Format tries something similar and they don’t have that problem anymore after a few tweaks. Maxx c just needs a change. The concept is good in keeping things somewhat even and speeding up games. Maybe make it so you cant use it with a full board? Or a certain amount of things on field etc. denying that the card is overpowered does NOTHING for us as players, it IS powered. If you’re winning entire games off just ONE cards power. Its too much. Simple as that. Its only because of the sheer salt it would induce they haven’t banned it
