Has anybody tried making this? How was it? I'm making it today. Will update soon!! Edit: yalll.. this burger was legitimately gourmet. The soft brioche one, the SAUCE honey, the simple patty.. everything was perfect and delicious. The bun recipe is definitely worth a try and the sauce has sich depth of flavour. Thank you Joshua!

@pepsicola0786
@pepsicola0786 4 жыл бұрын
@@aishayusuf5372 it really doesn't matter. The dough will be realllllly sticky. Just use a wooden spoon to keep mixing it. Once you add the butter to the dough, it will be much smoother. At that point, just use your hands to knead the dough. It will become more pliable. All the best xx

@@adammarvin2964 6 brioche buns, 4 burger patties, plenty sauce. I suggest buy extra meat.. I actually only used one burger patty in each burger. So if you're going to use two, you'll need about 1kg ground beef to make 10 burger patties

I made this last night. Let me tell you, these buns are flipping amazing. They're giant too. I tried making a pound of ground beef equal six patties to match the amount of buns but the patties were obviously too small lol. The only down side is I usually love thyme, but being pregnant I think the flavor was too strong for me, so unfortunately I didn't enjoy the flavor as much. But I am eating the left overs for brunch, and duuuuude the sauce "spread" is even BETTER the second day after the flavors have sat in the fridge overnight, I was even dipping my cold fries in it. 😂 This stuff is way better than in n outs spread! I'm so happy I can make it at home now. Next time I think I'll have my husband make the patties, but either way this was delish! Thanks for the recipe. 😊

Directions for burger buns: 1) Mix yeast with milk (98 degrees F) 2) Mix salt, sugar and flour together 3) Combine roux ingredients in small pot, whisk together and mix over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick consistency is achieved 4) With mixer on low, add yeast milk to flour mixture 5) Add egg and egg yolk to mixer 6) Add roux 7) Mix for 2-5 minutes until dough is smooth 8) Add butter, one tbsp at a time 9) Mix for another 2-3 minutes until thoroughly incorporated and smooth 10) Shape dough into ball and place n greased bowl. Cover and let sit for 1-2 hours (or dough has doubled in size) 11) When ready, punch dough to deflate it 12) Dump it on lightly floured work surface and divide into 6 pieces, each weighing 95-105 g 13) To shape, turn upside-down, fold each corner into center, then flip (seam-side over) and shape with palm on hand on work surface, until a tight ball is achieved 14) Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and cover 15) Let proof for 45 min to 1 hour in a warm area 16) Lightly brush with egg wash (1 egg + splash of water) 17) Bake at 375 F convection (or 400 F) for 17 minutes (or until golden brown) 18) Immediately brush with melted butter and let cool

I made this (without making the buns) and using a bbq to cook the burgers over a flame. Incredible! I suggest flattening the burgers a little more than he does and frying the extra slice of onion in oil with some sprigs of thyme, adding garlic at the very end. Finally: try straining the caramelised onion. Place them on a sieve and press on them with a wooden spoon until they're drained of excess oil.
