Nice build - FYI i find the best way to remove the plugs on that SIS board bracket - use a very fine flat head screw driver ie 4mm on its side just on the plugs tip on back of board and push it to just get them started and then use curved tweezers from the top to work them out - levering using the angle of the tweezers to work them up

12:10 I like the motherboard supports, probably reduces the chance of bricking the board if changing ram or plugging in the main power connector.

I don't like the Intel heatsink and fan system for Core i CPUs but I don't miss the extra plate on older systems 😀
@Compact-Disc_700mb13 күн бұрын
most aftermarket heat sinks also have the metal plate (sometimes plastic). It is nice to have because it helps to reinforce the motherboard, but I do agree it can be a bit of a pain sometimes.

Got a later version of the pentium 4 oc to 4.3 ghz on lga 775. Paired with a asus p5p800 with agp and a quadro fx 3000g. Have it setup with win 98 se, win xp and win 10 32 bits from 1 ssd in tripple boot. Naturally win 10 runs like azz but its nice to use for downloads, not having to clown around with cds or usb sticks.

@@joshwa1234 For tripple boot, you will need to make partitions on the storage ahead of time. Install win 98 1st on like a 4gb partition, then xp on say a 16gb part, then win 10 on a 50gb part and use easybcd to restore the boot manager and add all operating system boot options again.

So other than using for content showing people a history of older hardware, what do you do with these machines you refurb?
