on a $10 dollar budget. I lucked out and got a mini green screen from Five Below that fit over my chair on sale from $5 to $2.50, a foam board from dollar tree for $1.25 and a super basic phone tripod from walmart for $7. so slightly more than $10 but within budget. If I was spending $50 i'd get the 'social media kits' that come with lights, tripods, etc from walmart or five below. It can be done y'all! just get to making videos!

Love all the suggestions in this video and I do plan on using them myself as I'd like to create my own KZbin Channel. However, I do take slight issue with the first suggestion of foam board. Yes, the board itself cost under $5, but you also need a tripod or stand of some kind. If you're lucky maybe you have one laying around your home, or you can prop it up on whatever furniture you may have, but otherwise- especially if you're starting a new channel and have *no* equipment- you'll need to go out and buy a tripod to hold the foam board in place. And looking at Amazon, those tripods run around $25+, most are in the $35 range. So yes, the foam board is cheap, but it does you no good without the tripod to hold it in place, making it a $40 investment, not $5.

I was gonna skip this video but babeeeeyyy when I tell you this was a awesome very informative watch ! as I am a web cam model and Im currently finding more ways to create more of a soft lighting sensual back ground for the fellas , and naturally as an online entertainer and streamer i often listen to music in my shows , im in my 40s and love old scholl music hip hop and disco ! hell i love all good music ! lol so i been having both blue light on my face by a mini ring light that sits on top of my monitor , I stream from my phone which has a pretty good camera , and i watch my stream from my monitor as I sit at my desk . I just recently bought a colorful disco party light projector that softly swirls different colors in the background ! so the truth is my broadcast is giving more of a party vibe than a soft quiet seductive one , its as though im a 1920;s fem fetal who has been in a time machine and thrown into the 1980's lmbo ! that's what I think im giving, all because of my lighting ! so whats my biggest issue ? well..... my biggest issue is that I get migraines and this is why i prefer dim lighting i have been getting migraines since a child , and it causes sensitivity to bright lights , even in public i wear shades often to avoid a migraine attack ! however i loooooooove lighting !! but the men sometimes ask me if i can have brighter lighting in my shows so my question is for someone who is sensitive to bright lights what can i do to create the dimness that I need but also perfect lighting for my guys aka audience ? i love the cardboard idea as it is not an actual light but do you think if i use pink blue or even a black board it can have the same or in my case opposite effect ? draw more light to me with out the actual use of extra bright lights ... hope this made sense .. thank you bunches for any tips new subbie ! 😘

I would love to know if this set up works on my Canon 80D with EF-S 18-55mm kit lens or maybe I should invest in a little better lens that you can recommend?
@JoshWiniarski Жыл бұрын
Some of my favorite lenses for the Canon 80D are the Canon 24mm f/2.8, Sigma 17-50 f/2.8, Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8, and Sigma 30mm f/1.4. They're all a little different in price, but all will give great results!

Looks like I'm going to need to invest in some foam board at some point. What were you using to position the board at the right height? I don't think you mentioned where to get the hanging clamp set up thing or how much it would cost.
@JoshWiniarski2 жыл бұрын
I was using a light stand with a clamp (really just because I have a bunch of both). You can usually find camps for $1 - $3 at any hardware store (or amazon). I've had some pretty ugly DIY setups in the past using a yardstick or dresser to hold up foam board, but if you want to grab an amazonbasics tripod or cheap light stand (they start around $15) that's the best approach in the long run...I guess that technically breaks the $5 budget but I guarantee it'll be worth it 😅

There's some good stuff in here, but if someone has a budget this small, they're going to be shooting on their phone, not on a several thousand dollar DSLR camera where they can properly control things like ISO, shutter speed, white balance etc. Also, you didn't show how you're lighting the background in your actual setup, which is what really brings it all together.
