Josiah and the Book of the Law

In the 18th year of the his reign, King Josiah began the reconstruction of the temple in Jerusalem. He was unable to soften the hearts of the people of Israel until he read to them the Book of the Law, written by Moses. Read the story of King Josiah in 2 Kings 22-23: bit.ly/dNjTeu.

I really liked how Josiah found the book after he had made an effort to begin rebuilding the temple. So typical of God to reach out after we start making steps towards Him. Reminds me of the the prodigal son when the father comes out to meet him.

I had never heard of this story until I saw this video and it was so impressive that I wondered why I'd never heard of it. It's a great story- it shows the importance of scriptures in the lives of a church and a people. Without vision, a people perish.

paperbullet1945 that is why we have to celebrate passover....there is a big part missing....he celebrated Passover and invite many kingdoms around him but the mocked and ridiculed his messengers....2 years later enemies conquered those kingdoms and took all they treasures....and capture the peoples....the wifes were violated, animals and stock plundered....only His kingdom was spared because they celebrate the Passover and their idols were destroyed completely and the hearts of the people returnet to the true God in full obedience....that is why he was righteous in Gods eyes. All the nations should celebrate de passover...so desasters, plagues and destruction will passover us and not strike us down....passover has appointed day and a specific appointed time. Only will be celebrated where hevenly Jerusalem ( not the city) will declare the word of the Lord.

They are real... the stories. They are historical truths as far as they were translated correctly. God the Father is real. The Son and Savior, Jesus, the Christ, Jeshua our Redeemer is real. The Spirit of Truth, the Comforter is real. They are alive. They’ve spoken with us since Adam and some of us wrote down our stories or the stories of those we knew for those of us who could come later in this world’s lifetime. This video got me good... I cry at such love and service to God,it's hard for me to read the books that contain Soo many bad Kings and they went way back to the time,like when Abraham was almost sacrificed into fake Gods of his father. To have such a good king come up then die with understanding more bad Kings would follow, and many good people would be taken out off into distant lands.Bevause of the many bad things done under the very eyes of The One True God?
