Our Bible group is studying the divided kingdom. This video helped me understand what I read in 2 Kings and 2 Chronicles regarding what led up to the fall of Jerusalem. Thank you so much.

Will this be your first childbirth? Or your first male child? If so, commit him to the Lord to be brought up in Torah as they do in Jerusalem as from the beginning.

When I read about King Josiah in my morning Bible time few weeks ago, I was so happy that he changed the Kingdom n that the ppl followed n obey the Lord. But as I read on towards of he’s death, I cried. Of all the Kings b4 or after him, he’s the only king I cried over. It’s sad of how he worked so hard to change the Kingdom that he loved, the new King didn’t waste no time to destroy it! Thank you for the story. I always enjoy your storytelling. Have a safe n Happy Holiday. God bless.

The young King Jehoiakim continued the line of David. In the courts of Babylon, was the King of David’s line preserved. The video inaccurately claims David’s line ended when King Zedekiahs line ended.

Yes, thank you. I remember that in 2 Kings 27 King Jehoiachin was released from prison. That’s where our lesson ended this week. We get to the courts of Babylon in a few weeks

The house of David did not end there. Jehoiachin (another prince of judah, besides jehoiakim), had sons while in captivity in babylon. And through his sons the royal line of judah continued all the way to Christ, the son of david. And in that scripture was fulfilled that david should never want for a man to sit on his throne forever.

King David probably lived around 1000 BC, it's commonly accepted that the book of Deuteronomy was composed in the court of King Josiah of Judah, sometime around 620 BC, as part of propaganda campaign aimed to strengthen Josiah's authority. Leviticus was compiled at an even later date, no earlier than 500 BC. The ancient Jews had no synagogues, yeshiva, rabbis - or even a Bible. During the Second Temple Jewish scholars were formed due to Persian and Greek influence. They wrote and interpreted texts. They came to be known as Rabbis and the texts they compiled were christened " The Bible ". The Great Jewish Revolt ( AD 70 ) was suppressed and Romans destroyed Jerusalem and it's temple. Book of Mormon begins about 600 BC. Gabriele Boccaccini, Roots of Rabinic Judaism ( Cambridge: Eermans, 2002)
