The Dan plays the best sounds that I reveled in during my prime in the 70s. Now when I listen to them I get the chills and a few tears from sweet memories from way back when. I have listened to all types of music in my 70 years of life....but no other music group has ever, in my opinion, created such a unique sound by blending blues, jazz and soft rock like these guys. The music and lyrics create a truly one of a kind sound I think is ageless. I consider Steel Dan's blended sound to be the best contemporary music ever created.

No one is making this kind of music anymore 😔 This is definitely what distinguishes today from yesteryear. This music is a gem that I will always return to, to fill my heart and soul, when I am wistful for the good old days; when people were more kind and helpful to their neighbours; when people spoke to eachother face to face; when people's gaze was forward facing rather than down at their dumb cell phones, contemplating their next idiotic selfie.
