My trip in India so far has been amazing. This was just not a good day, and that happens everywhere when you travel. I won’t ever be a channel that hides these things and only shows perfect situations. That will never be me. Thank you for watching ❤️ I can’t wait to visit other cities in India 🇮🇳 I spoke about this and share these things when they happen on Instagram: instagram.com/josieliftsthings

For any other tourists who may be unware. There is no religious tax or anything like that in India. It is a secular country and free country, you do not need to donate just because you are a tourist. Also when needed, always threaten police action if your property is endangered, police tend to prioritise tourist issues (which can be a bad or good thing depending on who you are). Never feel bad about threatening police or being rude if you are defending your personal space or property, it is what scammers and creeps deserve.

But asking for 50 $ is wrong .and also it was not right ritual and it is not d time. As u dont have d knowledge u can ask anybody there about it. Myself living in Australia Adelaide from last 9 years and belongs from New Delhi. One best tips I want to give you is that...... Always talk to the local people before you do something which you are not sure of, I can understand being in a new country you may not know all the local rituals, please try to talk with a few local people they will definitely help you, they might not help you if you don't ask for help because may feel you are doing it from your will. Please Please talk to local people at least a few. Don't hesitate to call the police in case of need dial 100 they will definitely help. Try to talk to people where you will or stay being local they will help you and guide you. People in India are good. Sorry for this from my side. Please let me know if you need any help or guidance happy to guide or help. Cheers.

Please visit Kailasa Temple at Ellora Caves in Maharashtra India. It's considered greatest architecture in history of mankind, because the way it was built seems unbelievable for even today’s time. The temple was built at least 1300 years ago. No stone or nothing was added they carved a mammoth Granite rock/mountain with intricate details. The Kailasa Temple is notable for its vertical excavation-carvers started at the top of the original rock and excavated downward. At least 400000 tonnes of stones have been removed in the process. About 7000 workers and their future generations worked for 135 years. One small mistake and you have to rebuild the whole temple because it's carved into the rock without adding anything, that too up to down.
@naveex6968

It has secret underground tunnels believed to be leading to underground city which is even more mysterious and government have totally locked that down and no researchers are allowed to go inside. During the reign of Mughal emperor, Aurangzeb, the temple was ordered to be demolished along with other temples nationwide. For the task in 1682 he sent over 1000 labourers especially to destroy Kailasa Temple; they worked for over 3 years, but could barely manage to disfigure the statues here and there. It's the solid granite rock that's made so hard to destroy. Despite of his repeated efforts to tear down Kailasa Temple, Aurangzeb did not found success. Finally he gave up on destroying this temple. This is the same person who has destroyed thousands of ancient temples in India but he could not destroy this one so you can understand the magnanimity of the temple. other than Kailasa Temple there are 99 other cave temples there (100 total) of which 34 are open for public viewing. whole temple complex known at Ellora Caves.

Cows have very good emotional understandings. According to Hinduism they are just next to humans. I would love to see you go to a good Goshala (cow shelter) and spend a few minutes with cows. Cow shelters open for public would would generally have provisions to feed. Else you could carry bananas or jaggery to feed. I visited cow shelters many times and I love the interactions particularly with calves. It’s one good way to experience Indian culture which I rarely see tourists doing.

This is really sad. I too got scammed on my first visit but didn't let that spoil my trip. That was many years ago and I've now been to the country four times and will be visiting again real soon. I admit navigating India can be a bit challenging especially for female solo travellers like me. But once you look past the bad sides, you'll appreciate the country even more. I'm getting better and better in my every visit that I can now tell if someone is trying to scam me. Upon seeing that guy trying to give you the flower, I can tell he is out to scam you. I try to avoid these kinds of people. Goodluck with the rest of your trip. I guess, getting scammed in India is just part of the experience. :D

@@carolynboston9715 he is trying to he cautious because he does not want anything bad to happen to any one visiting our country, thing is he needs to understand that one cannot literally vouch for or shun the number of people we have in India, and there are certainly more good people than bad ones, it's just you have to be careful with who you engage with because as locals we do the same.. infact foreigners who visit India interact with more random people than any local would do. So it's all upto our own selves to take care and be smart in life. Know when to engage with someone and when not to. It just comes with experience, as there are plenty of people who are now living in India who are not Indians, so it's all about learning how to be in India. The guy however was simply trying to be extra cautious.

So sorry for your experience. As many people already said this happens to Indians as well as most of us speak vastly different languages. The best thing is that if you go to a religious place then do not take anything from anyone outside of the temple area for free (it is never free). If you want something, ask the shopkeepers, and buy it from them. Inside the temples try to avoid anyone who is selling you something. It is the same as the scams in Paris and Italy with free bracelets and those pictures with the people who dress like statues. The more touristy the place the more scams there will be. The thing is these Indians think that "White people" have lots of money and for them even INR 500 is big so you know what it means. I wish you a great journey. hope this does not happen to you again.

Hey Josie... I have not been to Pushkar... I have lived in India for the last 32 years...It's not always necessary to travel to these places.. even if they seem spiritual... Because India has a rich heritage of diverse cultures.. there are many other cities... For example Madurai, Shirdi, Katra for Vaishnodevi...It's very disappointing that this is happening... About people not stepping in, might be because people might be indifferent to these things in that city... But basically mostly North is kinda like that, Indians are scammed by Indians in their own country... So yeah the world is bad... But then the more west, south, east and north east you go... People are way too different.. they will always step in and help... Please let this be a lesson North India travelling needs more knowledge and guidance for sure...
