My absolute favourite of all your vlogs!! I have tears, listening to the monk's words about the teachings etc just really touched my heart and the fact that you gave him and the teachings so much respect makes me even more impressed with you. May we all treat others (people, animals, the planet) with love, kindness and respect - that is all I wish for in my life. Thank you so much for sharing this experience

I have traveled to Thailand several times and many WAT a.k.a temples I have visited, but have never even had a chance to chat with a monk there. Both of you are very lucky to be given this opportunity, especially for the first time given permission to record architecture that has never been recorded by other youtubers. I am very happy following your adventures. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Singapore. Stay safe and have a great day.

The deeper you explore, the more you can enhance your travel experience. You guys have done a great job digging deep in to cultural aspect. P.S. It's pretty special that you've found Thai tour guides and the monk who are very articulate in English.

I loved this video. Tina was right, not many falang (foreigners) take the time to get to know the culture and Buddhism in such depth, so thank you for sharing that experience. The monk you spoke to had a beautiful way of explaining Buddhism. I've been lucky enough to chat with many monks, but have never heard things explained so eloquently. Love the adventure and experiences videos as much as the food ones 😍

In Thailand, the nagas are known as the highest species of mythical beast (closest to “gods”). Not sure about the northern (Lanna) folklores, but in the northeast (Isan) they’re the patron gods of rain and agriculture.

This one is real quality contents, sub ! Monk teaching is the real deal you couldn't find in a more commercialize Wat and it not easy to find monk that can properly teaching you in English outside tourist area. Buddhism is simple way of life.. a philosophy to have peaceful mind in painful world so I wish people know about it more. It not like we have to change religion to learn philosophy right? so most of Buddhist in Thailand are more acceptance to other religion.

The picture that you think the giant eats the world. Actually the giant is called Rahu. Rahu swallowing the moon It is what is compared to natural events, namely the lunar eclipse. Thai people in the past would liken the lunar eclipse to a giant named Rahu who swallowed the moon. And temples for Thai people are like everything. as a whole kitchen When Thai people don't have money to spend, they go to the temple to ask for rice at the temple to eat. You may have seen the time in the morning when monks walk the streets and villagers feed the monks. Every day the food a monk receives is more than one person can eat. Monks will bring food that is not eaten to the poor. or when a poor person asks The monk will give food to that person. and the temple is also a place to stay Thai tourists time especially motorcyclists or camping when unable to find accommodation Thai people will choose to stay in temples. You can request to stay at the temple free of charge. Or you can make a donation to help that utility bill is up to you.😁😁🙏🙏

In the Northern temple, they usually buried sacred objects into the ground surrounding the holy place. And, it is a belief that women's period can destroy the holiness or the power of the objects. If women cross over during this time of the month, it will ruin the protective power.

The colour of the robes do tell us where the monks are from indeed. I think for the maroon colour robe, the abbot represents the teaching of sanskrit and Buddhism from India. Some are Tibetan monks, Burmese monks, Thai monks, and of course the Malayan Hindu monks also. The sound of their chanting prayer for each is very distinctive. Josie, I want to thank his highness for introducing to us all a glimpse his abbot.

When you go to the temple, you need to dress properly.cover up,no shorts,no tank top.Tina know how to dress you. The lady never go close to the monk or touching.even he give you or get something from the lady,he always has some fabric so you can put thing on it.
