I’ve just finished this walk over 2 days, well done for doing it in one. Hope you’re still enjoying walking and Colin’s knee hasn’t got any worse.

Thank you Gary. It was a great experience. Colins Knee improved but he later had a spine operation but he is back on his bike now, not so much hillwalking

Just got back from doing this walk. If you can do this in one day hat’s off to you Joss - full admiration - I couldn’t. Thought the “Hilly” sections were easy but that last flat bit killed me. Heading for a bubble bath !!
@jossthomas1234565 жыл бұрын
Thanks Robert, its a challenge, no doubt about it, but the training helped. I bet its equally not easy getting up to do day 2! Hope you enjoyed that bath!

Thoroughly enjoyed that Joss. You did a grand job of condensing a 34 mile hike in almost 9 minutes. It was sad about your mate. I know how he must have felt. I have an anterior Cruciate ligament injury - it's getting stronger but to be stopped from hiking distance has been a worry. Well, good on you for completion - very satisfying. Mark

Thanks Mark, glad you enjoyed it. It was this video that made me start youtubing properly. After Colin went home, I thought, well Im on my own now so I’d best start talking otherwise its going to be a boring video😀 It was a great day, Ive picked up a back injury myself so got to take it easy too, but staying active is important👍

A pleasure Joss. I'm glad you did start youtubing. There are more of your videos I want to explore but you have contributed a lot already. Remember not to over extend when healing. Have a great end to the week....

A pleasure Joss - so caught the start here then? That's good - a reasonable one to. I wish you speeding healing.

Sterling effort Joss. Not sure why I've not spotted this one before. A good call by your walking buddy to drop out when he did, no point doing more damage.

Got To Get Outdoors thanks Andy. Yes my mate Colin was pretty gutted as we had trained for it together but he had a recurring knee injury that he couldnt ignore👍 cheers for watching.

Nice one Joss. Thinking to do the Sandstone Trail myself this summer. Will probably start in Whitchurch and finish in Frodsham.
@jossthomas1234566 жыл бұрын
Billy's Outdoors great stuff. Being from Chester the other way worked best for me and I think I would prefer it as theres a long flat bit to wind down at the end! I walked the first half again last week with a friend who was going on to do the full route. Great times!
@WirralWill6 жыл бұрын
Hang fire, I just googled it and there isn't much difference in traveling home times from Whitchurch or Frodsham. So I can do it the same way as everyone else! Thanks
@jossthomas1234566 жыл бұрын
Billy's Outdoors The guidebook actually does it with the Witchurch start.. but I like this way.. think you will too! Drop a comment here after you’ve done it, would be keen to hear what you thought of it.

Really enjoyed this video Joss, you done well walking it in a day and did a great job with the filming of it, shame your mate had to drop out, looks a great trail, ATB 👍

Thanks mate, yes it really was a fantastic day- I have fond memories of it. It would make a very good 2 day trip too, as there is a nice pub on the canal at the halfway mark👍 thanks for watching mate, always appreciated. Atb Joss

Really fancy this but the cows scare me a bit. Did they come close?
@jossthomas1234563 жыл бұрын
Yes they were close to be fair as the route goes through a cattle/dairy farm. Im just glad I wasnt in the same field as the Bull!

nice video, would you be able to say if you think one could wild camp if needed along the way? rgds Rob
@jossthomas1234567 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Yes you could definitely wild camp on the way but youd have to be discreet. There are many quiet fields and hedgerows between Beeston and on or around Larkton Hill. If you pitched at the wnd of the day and got up early I cant see you having any problems.

great vid this Joss, im doing this as soon as lockdown is lifted, but with a camp in the middle :-)
@jossthomas1234563 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Theres a great campsite at the Shady Oak Pub in Beeston. You would need to be stealthy with a wild camp, but totally possible👍 Its a great route and I highly recommend it!

Great effort mate! Well done. Great effort also by Colin. We are looking at completing the SS trail, although me and my partner feel fit enough to complete it in one day, we would like to split our first attempt over two days. Can you recommend and campsites/ BBs around the Rawhead marker. We are very familiar with this area and would like to know any near by overnight stays. Thanks for your video 🔥👍

Hi Ben, a good one is the Shady Oak Pub, in Beeston. Which has a campsite and is approx halfway👍

Hi mate, just watch your vid, I’m thinking about doing the Sandstone Way in September, around the half way mark, is there any nice camping spots, going to do it over 2 days 👍
@jossthomas1234564 жыл бұрын
OUTDOOR ADVENTURE yes you might get a discreet wildcamp, however there is a really good pub on a canal in Beeston called The Shady Oak which has a campsite, nice place.
@outdooradventure45904 жыл бұрын
Joss thanks, I was looking at camping at the Bickerton Poacher pub, just passed Pickforton, think Beeston is more around the halfway point 👍

Great Video how long did it take you to complete the walk?
@jossthomas1234563 жыл бұрын
To be honest I cant quite remember. I wasnt really watching the clock and we stopped for a while when my friend hurt his knee but it was probably 12 hours or a bit more.
