It made me sad when you said in your journal flip that you weren’t so keen on this page. It’s one of, if not... my favourite. The torn page down the middle of the forehead & nose act as a contour, and the effect reminds me so much of an old music video - Gotye ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’. And the flowers are my favourite colour & have beautiful shading. I love this so much! xx

Well I did it! I watched your video several times before sitting with you on my computer and we did art together!! It was so much fun! I have the larger journal so may have needed to do something at the top of the page....but I am learning to notice those things and what needs filled thanks to your wonderful teaching! I LOVE my page even though a bit empty but like you said, you can always come back and fill in with more. I am drawn to the same color palette you use and am proud that I have six pages done in my new dylusions journal. I can't wait until mine is bursting full of beautiful art just like yours!!! Thank you and your son for all your hard work!!

I get all excited when I see another video uploaded, seriously! Loved the maps, reminded me of some old travel maps I have lying around in a drawer somewhere. Thank you! They worked so well. Adored the finished product and I feel inspired. Then I go to my craft room, lay down some scraps and then go blank! Can I ask if you usually have something in mind when you start? On another note, must be hot there as the air con or fan is working overtime. lol Winter has hit here in Aus which I love. Have to also say what a treasure Kyle is, loved hearing him and how special is he to help his mama? I ask my son (IT specialist) and he just tells me to google. Ugh

Really mine has never clogged up. I don't like the ones with tiny barrel. I like the thicker barrel but pen still has a nice point. I have never used that paper nub blender thing. hahahahaha. wow that sounds really intelligent. ha.

Good Morning Pam :-) So happy to see your new video! Hey, haha, when the camera went out...you just had to change those 4 petaled flowers to five ;-) I would too, I very much dislike even numbers on stuff like that. I was thinking a few minutes ago..."Hey, Pam, if you don't follow your ocd; your ocd is gonna drive my ocd crazy!" lol. I love when you're able to record your art process in the morning for us! I wonder if your son is still editing your videos for you...? Is it the same son (Kyle) we could hear you talking with here...about reformatting, or formatting (gees, I don't know anything about this tech stuff!) your sd card (I think)...? That son sounded so sweet
@SewCrazi6 жыл бұрын
Hi Stacey!! Good catch on the 4 to 5 petals!! ;) How exciting is it to get all those new toys to play with. I have found the Meeden pallets on Amazon to be a great deal and haven't had any issues with the ones I have. If you are ever interested, a lady on Etsy sells Daniel Smith paints in half pans already. I love ordering from her, and the pans are full. Her Etsy name is ArtisticKatt. ;) Have fun shopping for old books! Oh, and yep, that was my son Kyle speaking in this video. He LOVES Adobe programs and I think he does super great editing. My oldest son would rather be outside. ;) Thank you for watching and commenting! I hope you enjoy playing and exploring with your new art supplies. ~Pam

Hey Pam! How adoarable! I love her eyes and I totally feel you on the OCD thing. Eyes are my favorite to draw but I obsess maybe too much about trying to get them perfect. Lol! I am curious, would you mind sharing with me, a link to the brushes (black handle, black bristle) that you are using for your water coloring? I am having a heck of a time trying to find some with bristles that soft. It's very frustrating. The ones you use look like some I've seen other artsy fartsy people use but can't seem to find them. Thanks!

Love your art! Don’t you worry that pencil will fade over time? I have an old cousin in her 90s who says she wishes she’d used pen to write as pencil faded over time. That’s an extreme example but keeps me using micron and other permanent fine line pens in my whimsical folk art. I’m curious about your thoughts?
@SewCrazi6 жыл бұрын
Barbara Hauenstein 99% of my art is done in a journal and probably won’t be handled much or see much light after they are filled. Some, I may decide on spraying a fixative on. I have pencil drawings from high school that are 26 years+ old, and they still look good. 😊😉 I’m not crazy about using pen, I like the smooth yet fuzzy edges I get with a pencil.

So your gesso doesn't feel grainy at all? I bought a liquitex one and it is so sandy feeling....
@SewCrazi6 жыл бұрын
This gesso, Daler Rowney with blue label, when applied with a pallet knife, is sooo smooth. The only time I get a grainy texture is when I use a brayer to apply it. I absolutely love it! ;)
