I write on loose papers when doing difficult first drafts and ideations and I always use the page in landscape orientation. I absolutely agree that it helps ideas flow. I will definitely try it for very small notebooks!

I will try this tomorrow morning even though I used a lined journal. I'd love to try one of the dot journals but keeping to a tight budget. I have lots of blank journals and will look for one with unlined pages as it is almost time to start a new one. Current journal only has a few pages left. 😊 I subscribe and hope you post more ideas. I am not fond of the non-dominate hand alrhough I did train myself to use my calculator with my left hand. Old school accountant here. 😂

@NaphtaliRosenberg I have at least 20 blank journals I have never written in, plus five beautiful ones I have only written on a few pages. I tend to go back to my inexpensive spiral notebooks that go on sale when school starts! I like being creative, and I am trying to branch out. Not quite to the point of junk journals (gosh I dislike that name) or art journals, but using various colored pens and adding stickers. I live the idea if multiple journals - different ones for different purposes, but also want to have more focus. The other day I wrote about the various journals I was thinking about and came up with 12! Too many. I am thinking about how to combine my various ideas into no more than four journals and maybe one 3-ring binder. OK, 2 binders. Well, at least I cut the number in half. Tomorrow, when I journal first thing I am going to try your method and I'll let you know.

I think the visual discomfort you get from writing perpendicular to the lines on the page could be a good way to break a creative block!
