Absolutely! But Billy has his moments too, if he's not holding the camera, "You've got a big shaft here Edd!" I've noticed how he seems different when he isn't running the camera. On Ryan's, Phil's, Moe's, Edd's, & Michael 's channels he takes more chances with humor!

What compels "boys" to risk life and limb to go down an old mine shaft?! LOL 🤣 I'm with Ryan my first thought would be, "We're all going to die!" It would be a big "NO" for me. I do have to admit it's cool to see what's down there. Glad you survived! 😁

When I was a kid, my mom would say to me, my siblings and friends- "Okay go have fun but don't get killed or arrested." We loved to have adventures especially on our trail bikes/motorcycles in the mountains when we were kids. I bet Anna and Gwen think something similar when Edd and Billy get together,. 😁

Be nice to hear you all sitting at home together, telling us about all the history of these mines. Be nice to hear an expert or a history book telling us about the mine history. There must be other local spelunkers ( people that love to enter these mines or caves to explore) that have possibly mapped the areas already.

The tunnels are incredible, really loved hearing about how it was used during the war. It would be amazing to see how far they go. I'm so glad Edd was wearing a hard hat, he hit his head so many times! Billy missed a chance to make a joke about "tights come down!" he made so many other innuendos. 😂 So great to see you all together and I'm guessing Ernest had a great time with Anna and the kids. An amazing mine/cave system. It must've been hard manual work to cut, remove bits and remove huge blocks of stone to the outside world and eventually building gorgeous Bordeaux buildings back in the day. Of course, the Resistance forces may have used the caves to store defense supplies and possibly protecting people from being captured, like the equivalence to the American Underground Railroad safe haven locations from the South to the North for freedom. Edd and Billy/Alex/Cameraman, glad you avoided what appeared to be cave in sites and thanks for another lovely adventure at Chateau Lagorce. Looks like Ryan stayed behind. Did you have a means to communicate to Ryan or others in case of a mishap? Yes, Wine o'clock....much deserved for your efforts ! 🍷

If it's Limestone which it looks like it is it's quite a soft stone to cut and would have been done using 5/6ft hand saws.

I have been reading a lot lately about the Women who played an essential part of the resistance during the 2nd WW, sadly there were many who were caught and tortured then executed but they never revieled any information. I'm with the person who exclaimed about the difficulty there would have been getting those large mined stones out of there! Something is missing in telling the whole story of getting the product out of the cave system. Ive been down into the salt mines of Southern Bavaria and they constructed rail systems to move the product along the cave hallways, just like the coal miners did. At 77 years old this grandmother loved going along with Billy, Edd and Alex! Great filming Alex! Nice Ryan stood by the tower just in case he needed to go for help!😮

G'day Ed. I'm in Australia, but I assume all old under ground workings, operated roughly the same. As they dig further in and have space left from previously mined areas behind, they start to fill those voids with the rubbish rock and waste, this saves them having to move it to far, no point carting rubbish. Also what looked like door panels could have been used to block an opening and force the air flow in a different direction, around the workings. Not sure just my observations. Cheers.

Questions: above ground the tower is very tall, didnt they fear it been seen? Is it open to make it an air vent? If so, water would get in… it moves downwards, where does the water end up? If shaft is covered then where did the water pool come from? Cracks? How did they cut stone so straight to create the walls and ceilings? Did they cave it in coming from the other side and how did they climb out without ladder? FIND THE OTHER ENTRANCE… where the blocks were pulled out and go in that way. There must be records someware! I was nervous watching this! Now we want to know more…..
