Journey through Ten Thousand Veils | Sheikha Maryam Kabeer Faye

In this video, Tasneem Noor interviews Sheikha Maryam Kabeer Faye on her spiritual journey and transformation.
Sheikha Maryam was born in a liberal Jewish family in Hollywood, Ca. She was an actress at the age of five and was acting in a Theatre Company when she was twelve years old, when she was given a painted scroll of an ancient wanderer, upon which were inscribed the words: “Seek and The Truth Shall Make You Free.” This message galvanized her soul and determined the course of her life. In search of the liberating truth, she was led to live in India and Nepal, and in monasteries in Europe, and then guided to embrace Islam at the hands of an ancient Sufi Master a few minutes away from the tomb of the Prophet Abraham (a.s.)
She then was guided to study intensively with Sufi Masters around the world, with Sheikh Bawa Muhaiyadeen (ra) in Sri Lanka and Philadelphia, with Sheikh Abdoulaye Dieye (ra) and Sheikj Aly N’Daw in Senegal and the US, and with Sheikh Harun Faye in Senegal, and the US. She has received the permission to teach in the Muridiyyah and Mustafawiyyah Tariqahs. The permission to teach (ijaza) is , in reality, the responsibility to serve and to share. Thus, through her years of traveling on the spiritual journey, has she discovered and transmitted the ever deepening experience of ibadat: the love, worship, and service of our Beloved Lord.
She has described the deep journey of transformation in a book entitled: ” Journey Through Ten Thousand Veils, the Alchemy of Transformation on the Sufi Path. ” This book is a significant and revealing spiritual and social commentary dispelling many myths and stereotypes, such as the proposition, often fostered by the media, that women are inevitably oppressed in Islam. On the contrary, it is by entering into the heart of Islam that the author was liberated, elevated, empowered, and guided to realize the true purpose of her existence.

Without the basics of living a life with ahlak modesty and morality how can one advise other Muslims when one has not spent one penny on such a road. Its haram to put yourself as a superior. But I love her message to love God Allah, but Its haram to present herself as anything but a fellow lover of God and His greatness! Probably due to her great lack of an Islamic knowledge she can do such a blasphemy without an conscience. The beauty in Islam is submitting to Allah and his guidance and receiving His grace and beautiful light. How can one live a life just of submitting others to yourself and enhancing your self without sacrifice. While a true Muslim desires to sacrifice themselves and their life all for Allah.

I think it is Haram to appoint yourself as a teacher of islam when clearly we are all students. Having money cannot replace knowledge and sacrifice. Your book is highly inaccurate portrayal of the truth of what happened in your life. Your praying at the spot for men in the mosque showed disrespect, and a lack of impulse control. It also leaves out the fact that you were beding the imam of that mosque and It leaves out the many men in your bed as a Muslimah. It also leaves out the fact that you disobeyed and disrespected him as well. Haram. It leaves out that you sought after Ahmed Kabeer and wouldn't accept no for a answer because he was the right hand of the current Sheikh Bawa. It gave you central power positioning. Which in your life is a priority for you. to be at the center of everything. The most important. It leaves out that you entertained other guys in front of Ahmed Kabeer several times, and when he angered said he was evil. You chose when he will get to be with you in bed and in ISlam woman is submissive and obedient, yet your husband back then had to be obedient to you. It leaves out the many times you married after Kabeer and leaves out this and that of your life. It seems you have made zero actual scrifices for the vlues of Islam yet sit in front of people as its chieftain. I doubt you know more than the juz amma if that. How can you appoint yourself like this! It shows a lack of basic knowledge about any of the values of Islam. Astaghfirullah I am sorry you have taken offense to this. I think you are right it is not my place to judge her. But there is a standard for a teacher in Islam and ne should not be someone who lies cheats and abuses others for example and put yourself up on a stage with a dress and and scarf and start demanding recognition this is islam is haram is it not? astaghfirullah this woman maybe very much better person than me. But it is Haram to copy a fw movements and speak patterns and say you are God's light and teacher in position above others at best she is a muslimah that has something to share not a divine being with knowledge. Her life is proof of a great lack of knowledge and she has no shyness about it. the value of morals and morality do not go beyond the dress she puts on. Love of Allah without any morality will not take anyone very far. This is the beauty of Quran the first steps come towards knowledge of God in keeping His pleasure and not electing yourself as holy before others. she did choose this name is it not Sheikha? Should it not also mean a genuine hard effort and work of spirit and knowledge or putting on a good show? Sheikha Maryam Thank you for your message to love Allah but should not your book have been a bit more truthful? You did not mention that you had an affair or marriage with the sheikh in the al Aqsa mosque and that you left him with child, that is where you prayed for ISa as you mentioned. You did not mention any thing about how one should morally handle divorce and as one who has done it so many times legally and illegally should not that be included in your talks? How do you advise other muslimahs about such isssues? Or do you just say make up stories and say bismilah. You did not mention marrying a few times in between these two mentioned marriages in your book. You did not mention as a lover of Allah having your hsband watch you caterrter to your whims and other lovers. I was just curious how that fits into loving Allah? Is it that Allah is your pet and gives you wealth and stature so you pet Him? Can you explain to us how one loves Allah but disregards everything he has written for us to act upon? and besisdes screamming out our love so others hear and respect us. Are you out of costume even a muslim?

Hater hater hater, they are everywhere but its all good because the lover of one unseen god moves to the light and is very very independent of others opinions weather good or bad haha. So , let's all of us pray for this man or woman ( r n gaming) to have light and guidance of god and let him not poke others bubble of privacy. Even if one us afflicted with trials and if had gone through some of any their own difficult moments can't share the 100% of hardship to people its a disgrace meaning we don't or shouldn't complain like oh I had this but it got sorted out this way and so and so.
