We rented our bikes from Hill Country Bicycle Works 702 E Main St # 290-E, Fredericksburg, TX. It is located downtown Fredericksburg, TX. We then put the bikes in the car and drove to crapapple school on lower crapapple rd, parked the car and went riding all over that area. It is all gravel roads except one minor connecting part to enchanted view rd when we went up the hill to see the scenic over look. Another area we rode was the willow city loop, this part was very hilly but it had stunning scenery.

The ideal bike ride always includes stopping to smell/see the flowers 😊. Looks like the temperature is warm and sunny there 😎 . I hope y’all at least tried on a cowgirl hat while you were there 🙂

Hmmm, why didn't we think of trying on a cowboy hat? We did get lucky, the wildflowers bloomed a little earlier than usual so we just caught them. Parts of the route really gave us a workout, but if you ever get out there you must see the scenery on Willow City loop.🚵🏞🤯

We are visiting Fredericksburg today or tomorrow and have our bikes! I would love to do this. What was your route and how long was the ride? Where did you start and end?

Lucky you! We rode on the Willow City Loop Road and the Lower Crabapple Road. Trying to park on the Willow City Loop was very difficult, you see a lot of cars just slowing down and enjoying the scenery. The ranchers forbid you to park along the road in front of the ranches. The other area that was beautiful and flat was riding on Crabapple Road. You can easily park at the Crabapple Community Center. Just make sure to sign the register before going on your ride. The leger is right outside the door. You probably won't find anyone there.

We found our route using gravelmap.com to find gravel roads to ride on. But the bike shop where we had rented our bikes steered us to Willow City Loop and crabapple school area on lower crapapple rd. Thanks for watching.

I've always wondered what the Texas Hill country looks like! Do you travel to your destinations via RV so you can bring your own bikes?

No, we do not travel by RV. We either drive and take our foldable bikes or we rent bikes. In so many places now it has become very easy to rent bikes through various bike apps. On this particular trip, I did bring my foldable bike on the plane and used it for the paved trails in San Antonio. But riding in the hill country I needed a bike that could ride on gravel, so we went into Fredericksburg's bike shop and rented more appropriate bikes. Thanks for watching!
