I had always wondered if any past native peoples had used these caves .. there are cliff dwellings all over the South West and some not very far from here . So me and Brenda the borrowed mule and Ruth my pack mule went exploring and stayed for a couple of days in Gila Wilderness
Thanks so much for coming along on the journey with me! It just wouldn’t be the same without you!

Skito Saddle Pads
I was in the market for a new saddle pad after my old one wore out.
Agnes, my riding mule, has a bad back and it makes a big difference to have a good saddle pad.

Ellis Canvas Tents
I reached out to Ellis Canvas Tents because I was just not too happy with my sleep system. I had seen their products before and was really impressed with the "Cowboy Bedroll". They sent me one to try and can say that so far it is the best I have used for Cowboy Camping.
Soon I hope I can get one of their Canvas Tents

Your videos sure make me miss the Southwest! There was a time I thought I would never go East but here I am living a great life "The poets tell how Pancho fell And Lefty's living in cheap hotels The desert's quiet, Cleveland's cold And so the story ends we're told Pancho needs your prayers it's true But save a few for Lefty too He only did what he had to do And now he's growing old"

This is easily one of my favorite videos you've done. I hunted Unit 24 South of the Mimbres and along the Continental Divide for several years. It just started getting too crowded up there with too many road hunters running around on ATVs where they shouldn't be riding them. Lots of bears in that area. I never saw one, but I saw plenty of scat and heard them. I always looked across the way at the Wilderness and figured I'd have to go up in there, someday. One time, I was up there and the rancher had a bunch of yearling calves running around there, and they kept following me around while I was hunting, making all kinds of racket. Well, I ditched them and went hiking down a finger to see what was at the end of it. Then I heard something in the brush. I figured it was one of those calves, and I'd have a little fun and sneak up on it and see if I could spook it. So, I crept up to the bush as quiet as could be and when I got close I jumped up to scare it. Only, it wasn't a calf. It was a big bull elk! (I had a mule deer tag). I saw that elk and went Aaaack! That elk saw me and went Aaaack! and went tearing down the side of the hill, busting through the brush like a bulldozer. That was the first time I saw an elk in that unit.

I was concurred you hadn't done a video in a while , so is good to see you doing your thing. I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for bringing us along with you. I have no way of doing things like that. When my wife was a little girl she lived in Zacatecas her and her dad used to go out hiking so it brings her a lot of memories.

Granny used to say that a yonderin man is never satisfied. I never understood that, maybe I didn’t stay around long enough for it to sink in.

When you said he laid the rifle over the log and it’s still there I had to think just a second if it was the rifle or the log! Thanks for another enjoyable journey!

Here's how I smoke cigars: I cut about 3/4 inch off the end, cut that in half, tear the first half into two parts and then pack it into my pipe. I went from smoking 5 cigars in an evening to smoking 1 cigar over a 24 hour period. Saved myself a whole bunch of money and cut back on my smoking.

I've spent plenty of time in deserts in the Army. And the only thing I didn't like about green areas were ticks and bugs, still looks fun.
