We have a lot of Fox up by us, another thing I ran, only once though because it ran in front of the truck, but holy cow did that thing out smart us so hard, it was running up trees, then down the same one then up another leaping to another, it's hard to explain but it was awesome, light snow so could see the tracks, dogs got stuck on a half fallen down tree, the fox went up there and jumped to a different one then ran a circle and back down it's own trail

The problem we have is that you think your trailing a lion and it ends up being a fox thats just moving out in front of the hounds .. I have caught 2 before this one .. this one just kind of decided to climb that tree .. I didn't think they put enough pressure on him to make him climb .. Thanks

We all get into a trip or adventure that can turn into a day and night or longer. For folks like myself or you to stay all night is not a big deal to us. But somebody unprepared or no knowledge of the land like a someone who has spent time in the woods a over night stay is terrible to think of and can really become a emergency in a hurry. I surely enjoyed this one but hate you had to fall 35 times to get the footage. A fox is a tricky animal to run and many of beagle we had loved to run fox. I always thought they would smell like a coon maybe or something that reminds hunting dogs of something they like. The scent being red hot and seeing him there as they trailed got them off the track they were trailing. I heard you say what was that like you said that where the fox jumped up. A hound climbing trees can sure get them hurt or start a fight with dogs they aren’t familiar with. Thanks Brett for sharing your trips and life. Stay safe and healthy with good outdoor adventures to you and yours. 🎥💪🏽💯👍🦊

Reminds me of one of my dad's stories. They hunted foxes and coyotes here but thecway they did it was to sit around the fire, listen to the hounds and lie about whose dog was in the lead. His uncle got the bright idea of bringing in a greyhound. Bragging rights, you know. Now, the greyhound started out in the lead but this is timber country and a greyhound pretty much runs in a straight line. Uncle heard his dog alright. When the dogs hit timber he heard: Smack ow! Hey Brett, your my new obsession! But I have a question... do the dogs make a specific kinds of vocalizations when they are in a Specific part of the hunt? ( trailing,Treeing,Searching ETC?) I have never hunted w/ hounds or known anyone who has so I'm unfamiliar with the tactics. but I've noticed you could tell where they are and what there up to purely on their vocalizations. On a side note, I camped outside of Vegas in Fire Valley a while back in 99. I really want to do some New mexico and AZ. camps this year and watching your work is making that desire Urgent! love your work I recently told my dad about you to get him into YT and maybe watch me? he has a smart tv and I told him he needed to watch you, growing up he was a big spaghetti western guy with The Duke and Clint Eastwood ,Lee Van Cleef And I knew you were Right up his alley! lol 🤣 anyway really curious about the dogs and it was great to see you in the chat on that live stream we both frequent. great work love your content Total respect my friend, kiss Ole Agnes & ruth for me! lol🤣 i'll Comment again soon I'm sure, Binging thru all your videos, Stay safe, Blessings to you, the family and all those hounds, as well as Agnes and Ruth! 😉 And a Happy & Safe New Year!
