Journey to Silius was developed by Sunsoft and released for the NES in 1990. In the year 0373, in space colony #428 in the Silius Solar System, Jay learns from a floppy disc (a floppy disc in a space colony?) that his father's death was not an accident. Terrorists were behind the explosion that wiped out all life in the space colony. Jay then decides to set out on a standard 2d platform run 'n gun adventure to avenge his father. The game passed by fairly unnoticed during its release, but is today considered by many as an overlooked game with a particularly strong soundtrack. Journey to Silius was first intended to be a Terminator game, but problems with the license called for a last-minute solution. Changes were made, but references to Terminator can still be found. At this past Awesome Games Done Quick, $1,025,000 was raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. It only took a week of continuous streaming, 18,000 donors, and many many runners to achieve. A big thanks to everyone responsible for these amazing numbers, what a humbling achievement. For comparison, last year's event raised just under $500,000.

4:23 Those shots aren't anywhere near random! They fire at set intervals and alternate what range they shoot at in relation to the boss's position on the screen (the first shot lands a few-ish pixels directly in front of the tank treads, while the shot second shot lands a little further out; then, this pattern repeats). The major random elements of this boss are its movement (forward or backward--the distance traveled is always the same) and its claw, though there are limitations even to this: it will never extend its claw more than twice in a row, and it will never move forward or backward twice in a row (though it CAN alternate between moving forward then moving backward, or vice versa, and can do so several times before extending its claw again). The beginning of the battle always starts the same: it pauses at first to fire a couple shots, then claws out, then moves forward. The remainder of the battle is when the randomness sets in: as it fires its continuous pattern, it will switch randomly between its other three actions: moving forward, moving backward, and extending its claw.

That's because it starts so soon into the video, you may as well just watch the whole thing. But for those that don't have a minute to spare in your fast & furious lives - Run starts at 1:05

Bradley Mellor Well, normally they leave so much free time in the beginning of these runs, anywhere between 5-20 minutes. I'll never understand why they leave such long amounts of time in the beginning, a lot of the time it's just dead air or an empty couch.

Mark Marchesini Bradley Mellor I agree, a lot of it is dead air/setup time most of the time, and I didn't mean it in a negative way it's just missing from the description : Please leave a 'Like' to show us which runs you enjoy most. Run starts at (missing here). Game #48, played by ZakkyDraggy ( Couch commentators: Puwexil, Dragondarch, and SMK
